Help - updated from 1password 3 to 5

I updated from 1password 3 to 5 on my Mac, but it kept launching the old 1password. So I forced quit 1password and 1password mini via Activity Monitor and used Spotlight to delete all "1password" items except for my 1Password.agilekeychain. Now when I launch 1password 5, it says "1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini."

Can someone help me to get this to work again? It's hard to live without my 1password, which is why I paid for an upgrade! :)

Hi @ericchang, welcome to the forums! I'm sorry you're having trouble opening the 1Password 5 app.

Are you using our web store version of 1Password 5? If so, please try the following steps to see if it solves the problem:

    • Go to your Applications folder.
    • Find 1Password 5.app in the list.
    • Drag the 1Password 5.app to the Trash. (Do not use any third party cleaning tools to remove extra files from 1Password - simply remove the 1Password 5.app file by dragging it to the Trash.)
    • Empty the Trash, then reboot your Mac.
    • After the reboot, download a fresh copy of 1Password 5 from our download site.
    • Once downloaded, unzip the file if necessary and drag it to the Applications folder.
    • Double-click the new app to open it.

Does it work now, or do you still get the same error? Let us know how it works out for you, and if you need more help.
