Trial Expired...is this real? 1Password 5
So I bought the 1Password some time ago from the site (I think it was v4). Then upgraded to v5. I noticed now (and admittedly can't remember if I saw this before or not) that it says "Trial Expired" in the top right. Is this real, or some bug? What will the impact be on using the product? I am a bit disappointed to see this as I bought the app even before ever using a trial version. What can I do to fix this if it is, in fact, a problem?
Thanks very much,
H

If you follow the instructions at this posted link, it should help get things sorted out for you directly.

Hi @Hans Notenboom
Hopefully the link provided by Sara helped you. I did check out records based on your forum account but couldn't find any purchases. If you need further assistance let us know.

I remember that I did a free upgrade (that was a slim window) to go from 4 to 5. I am not sure if that went from Apple, or Agile Bits. I have had the app on my computer for a year or so, so I didn't just buy it or try it recently.....not sure what to do now. It is on my iMac and my MBP.

Please go to 1P5 > About 1Password and tell us exactly what it says there (ignoring the credits, of course). That will at least let us work out from where you obtained your copy of 1P5. If AgileBits can't find a licence there are really only two possibilities:
- you bought a licence with an email address that differs from the one you use on your forum account;
- you never paid for 1P4 (which perhaps didn't complain about the absence of a licence because of a bug in the software).
I'm sure you will find you're running the the AgileBits store version of 1P5 because there is no trial version available from the Mac App Store.

Hi @Hans Notenboom
Just to let you know. There isn't a slim window for a free upgrade from 1Password 4 to 1Password 5 - any user with a valid licence of 1Password 4 is eligible to run 1Password 5 (assuming they meet the system requirements). Now the move from 1Password 3 to 1Password 4 was a paid upgrade so you will need a valid 1Password 4 licence.
Of course if you discover you purchased 1Password 4 from Apple's MAS then that would probably explain why you're seeing this message as Apple's MAS doesn't use the same licensing system as we do.
So we need to determine if you originally purchased directly from us or via Apple's MAS. Let us know if you've managed to figure this out yet and we can continue from that point.

1Password 5
Version 5.0.2 (502007)
Agile Web StoreDoes that help? But I think I started with 4. Also, I don't think the email matches as I logged in with FB and not the email address.

Hi @Hans Notenboom
Ok, let's see what we can do about finding this license. If you purchased from our website, I will need one or more of the following:
- The email address that was used for your purchase (or a list of possible emails if you can't remember which one).
- Any alternate spellings of your name that you may have used when purchasing 1Password.
You can send these details to me in a private message so you're not posting them in a public forum. :)
Now, if you think you may have purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store, I won't find your license details in our back office records. The Mac App Store version of 1Password actually doesn't have a license key as it is tied to your Apple ID.
Just in case, take a look in the App Store under 'Purchases' - do you see 1Password listed there? If you've purchased from the Mac App Store, let me know and we can make sure you're using the correct version so that trial message goes away!
