I'm no stranger to strong arm tactics in the realm of licensing, but you made my user experience so miserable I clicked 'ok' on the upgrade as it appeared the same as all my other FREE upgrades. Lo an behold, now I can't store any more than 20 items. You should have let me keep my old version.

Now I'm a fan of "Password Safe", and I don't anticipate buying any products from you, ever.

    Hi @h2o666,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble.

The update from 1Password 4 to 1Password 5 is free for all version 4 license owners. This update appears just like any other update in the in-app updater. If you own a version 4 license, simply apply your license file to register version 5.

If you're going from 1Password 3 to 1Password 5 (and purchased version 3 prior to 2013), it is a paid upgrade (discounted). Since this is a paid upgrade, it doesn't appear as an update in the in-app updater. You must visit our website to download the new app. (If you accidentally downloaded version 5, and would like to switch back to version 3, let us know and we can help.)
