1Password v3 Data file location
Hi there,
I had been running 1Password v3 but recently updated my Mac OS to Yosemite. Unfortunately during the updating process I decided to update 1Password to a newer version (v5) at the same time. That said however, when I launched 1Password v5 it asked me to locate my data. I was hoping you might be able to help me locate my data file. I'm assuming it's on my Mac somewhere or at the very least, somewhere on a previous Time Machine backup.
I've already tried looking in the following folders, both on my mac and time machine backups, but still haven't managed to locate the data file:
~/Library/Application Support/...
~/Library/Containers/...
You're prompt help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance. Ben

Is it in:
~/Library/Containers/com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/Data/Documents/1Password.agilekeychain?

Hi Ben ( @bdjohnston ),
I'm sorry to hear that you've been having trouble with 1Password lately! The location of your keychain file in 1Password 3 was moveable so it might not be in the default location, but for 1Password 3 the default locations are as follows:
If you're using 1Password 3 version 3.8.22 (purchased from our website)
- Data File: ~/Library/Application Support/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain
- Backups: ~/Library/Application Support/1Password/Backups/
If you purchased 1Password 3 from the Mac App Store (v. 3.9.6)
- Data File: ~/Library/Containers/com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/Data/Documents/1Password.agilekeychain
- Backups: ~/Library/Containers/com.agilebits.onepassword-osx/Data/Library/Application Support/1Password/Backups/
In any case, the simplest thing to do is search in Finder for a '1Password.agilekeychain' file.
I hope this helps, but if you have any further questions or concerns, we're here for you!

Thanks for the quick reply Megan (and Stephen). I only managed to find the folder/file after turning on show 'hidden files' using my mac terminal. Otherwise, I wouldn't have never found it. Thanks again! Save me big time, I was certainly a little worried there for a while. cheers, ben
