I purchacsed 1 Password 3 for mac awhile back. - Family License.

I have it on my I mac updated to 1password5 and it works great.

I'm trying to add the family license to my macbook air and I've downloaded it but can't see where to put the license in.

Also I have it downloaded on my iPad and iPhone 5 and they were all syncing...but when I changed my password on my iMac I guess I didn't change it on the pad and phone and now it's not syncing any longer.

I'm not sure if maybe I purchased theses separate or really what the issue is.

Can you please help?

Hi @TAngelo, welcome to the forums!

I'm trying to add the family license to my macbook air and I've downloaded it but can't see where to put the license in.

After downloading 1Password 5 on another family Mac, you'll need to add your license file (it's not a code, but an actual file). I found your license information for 1Password 5 for Mac under the email address associated with your forum account, and I had that info resent to you, so you should get a separate email about that. There are steps in that email to download your license file and add it to 1Password. If you have trouble with that, please let us know what happens.

Also I have it downloaded on my iPad and iPhone 5 and they were all syncing

What sync method are/were you using - iCloud, Dropbox, or Wi-Fi sync? If you add a new item to 1Password on your Mac (like a new Secure Note), does that sync to 1Password on your iPad or iPhone?

...but when I changed my password on my iMac I guess I didn't change it on the pad and phone and now it's not syncing any longer.

What password did you change on your Mac? Are you referring to your master password to unlock the 1Password app? Or your Dropbox or iCloud password? Or something else?

I'm not sure if maybe I purchased theses separate or really what the issue is.

The Mac and iOS versions of 1Password are sold separately (although 1Password 5 for iOS is now a free download with free basic features). What version of 1Password are you using on your iOS devices?

    Thanks!

I now have 1 password app on two of my three computers. I can't get the license to download on the third computer. I already had the app on the computer and set it up but I'm not sure what license I used.

I tried deleting the app of the computer and redownloading it and then clicking on the link for the family license but it won't take it.

  • @TAngelo, did you receive the email with the license file that Drew mentioned? If so, you don't need to re-download. Just copy that file from one of your other computers to the third computer via a USB thumb drive, File Sharing, or whatever method you prefer. Then you should be able to just double-click that file on the third computer.

If you don't have that file anymore, what error message do you receive when you try to download the license from the third computer. You can also request it to be sent again at the following link:

    https://agilebits.com/home/licenses

If that doesn't work, please let me know what error message you received and we can investigate further.
