Share option not working

On my iPad, I created a login item in 1Password. I then shared it with my son as an email to his MacBook. When he clicked not the item in his email, and error popped up saying there was no associated application. He even opened 1Password and tried again. Same error.

I suspect that is the problem. I'm guessing that 1P 3.8 has no way of understanding shared items sent from 1P4. I don't believe the share function existed in 1P 3.8 (although it's so long since I used it I can't be absolutely sure about that).

Hi @ajahn,

I believe Stephen_C is correct. If your son's Mac is running OS 10.8 or higher, he can try 1Password 4 or 5. That would be a paid upgrade from version 3, but he can try out a 30 day free trial, which he can get from our download site. (If he's running OS 10.10 (Yosemite) he can download 1Password 5, or if he's running OS 10.8 or 10.9 he'll need to download 1Password 4 from the "Legacy" section at the bottom of that page.)
