Had to pay to upgrade to Pro Features even tho I previously bought the program

I just updated to Yosemite on my MacBook Pro and upgraded to the latest 1Password apps on both my MacBook Pro and iPhone 5. I clicked on "Restore purchase" to download the Pro capabilities to my iPhone, but it just spun for an hour, so I had to click the $9.99 button. It charged my iTunes account the $9.99 but I thought it was supposed to be free since I had bought the app???

What version of the iOS application did you purchase before? Are you aware that the licenses are sold on a per platform basis, so buy the Mac version is separate from the iOS version? (Sorry if that's an insult - just checking to be sure.)

If you bought version 4 for iOS, you shouldn't have been charged for the Pro features. So let us know some additional details about your purchase history.

  • @WendyK, hawkmoth is correct. If you had purchased 1Password 4 for iOS before, it should look up the previous purchase and activate it. The only time it couldn't do that is if it can't reach the iTunes App Store (e.g. an App Store outage). Let us know if you did indeed purchase 1Password for iOS in the past, and we can investigate further.
