5.0.2 compatibility question with other version with dropbox sync

I have multiple Mac desktops running OSX Maverick (running the latest 1passwod version 4) and a legacy windows box with 1password for Windows (1.0.9.132..?), (also with iPhone app) All are sync with dropbox and life is good.

Recently I've upgraded one of my OSX machines with Yosemite and upgraded its 1password to 5.0.2, and I noticed that new entries created with the 5.0.2 client does not show up in any of my other clients, even though syncing in other clients didn't seem be have any error.

Is that expected? if not, what can I do to debug it? Due to my work requirement I cannot upgrade all of my host to use 1password 5 yet. Thanks in advance.

    Hi @klops,

    I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble keeping everything synced up right now. Dropbox sync should work just fine between all your various versions of 1Password. I've got a few basic things that we want to check regarding Dropbox first, before we get into the serious troubleshooting:

    • Please ensure that Dropbox is installed and running on your computers
    • Check that you are logged in with the same account on all computers and devices
    • Confirm that Dropbox sync is selected in 1Password > Preferences > Sync on your Mac
    • Confirm that Dropbox is selected in Settings > Sync on your iOS device
    • Confirm that both your Mac, Windows box and iOS device are reading from the same file path in Dropbox.

    If all of those items check out, let's run a test and see exactly where things are getting tripped up:

    • Create a test entry on your Mac ("Test, Mac") and add some data
    • Create a test entry on your PC ("Test, PC") and add some data
    • Create a test entry on each of your iOS devices ("Test, iPhone/iPad") and add some data
    • Where does "Test for Mac" show up (on which computers/devices)?
    • Where does "Test for PC" show up (on which computers/devices)?
    • Where does "Test for iPhone" and/or "Test for iPad" show up (on which computers/devices)?
    • Log in to the Dropbox website and click on the 1Password.html file inside your 1Password.agilekeychain folder
    • Enter your Master Password
    • Do either or any of your test entries show up in your database here?

    Please let me know the results of this little experiment - once we have a better idea of where things are going sideways, we should be able to get this straightened out simply for you :)
