Hi AgileBits,

i just searched the forum if there is an "easy" option to change the password of an secondary vault. I found out there is no way!

I just saw that you post in forums since 12/2013 that it´s on your list.... How long do you need to develop such an "normal" Option... ? As you know it is recommended to change also Masterpasswords from time to time to stay secure.. right ?

But when a Password-Tool gives not the option to do that, it´s maybe the wrong software ?

Please give me an feedback, when it will work ?

regards Andreas

I don't know where you got that idea. It's wrong in any event. Have a look at this excellent blog post.

If you really need to change the password of secondary vault the work around currently is to create a fresh vault, move the relevant items into it and delete the old vault.

(Edit: By the way, I don't work for AgileBits or speak for them.)

    Hi @AGuersch‌

You're right, it's functionality we still need to introduce for those occasions where changing a Master Password for a secondary vault is required. We don't recommend frequently changing your Master Password though as it makes more sense to pick something very complex and remember that. The more frequently you change a password you need to physically remember yourself the easier you'll make it because it keeps changing. That's why insane password security policies leave most people shaking their head.

We're also need to work hard at bringing the different platforms in line regarding secondary vaults. While we get a lot of praise as to how great 1Password is we know it can be better!
