Restoring to iPhone 6

Hi, my iPhone 6 has just been stolen today, about 10 hours ago. I've got myself a new iPhone 6 and have restored all data which has led to 1Password's app being restored. However, none of my data (passwords, logins, etc) has been restored to the new phone/restored app. I really need my data back! Can you please help. Also, is it possible for me to revoke authorization of the application from the other phone so that my password data stays intact? Please help!

    Hi @RPN, welcome to the forums! I'm so sorry to hear your iPhone was stolen! :(

    To address your second concern first, 1Password doesn't have a "revoke authorization" feature, but you can erase that entire device remotely if you set up "Find My iPhone" before it was lost. You can find more information about that on Apple's support site here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2701

    Before erasing the device, you may want to log into iCloud.com and see if you can set an activation lock on that iPhone if you haven't yet. If you still see GPS location, call the cops and they can work with Apple to locate it.

    Now, as far as restoring your 1Password data: By default, all your 1Password data is stored locally on the device unless you choose to enable one of the sync options (iCloud, Dropbox, Wi-Fi), or use the backup option in 1Password to save a backup file to a computer. Did you ever use the sync or backup options in 1Password? Do you use 1Password on any other devices or computers, and if so, do they have your data?

    By the way, if you restored the new iPhone from an iCloud or iTunes backup, that should have restored your 1Password data as well, but we've found that doesn't always work for some reason (unfortunately we don't have control over those backup methods).

    Hi Drew, thank you for your response.

    Unfortunately, iPhone only allows me to erase my lost device when it connects to the internet. Which means that any data that it has in offline mode can be accessed by the thief. Unless I've understood it wrong?

    On restoring my iPhone data to my new iPhone, everything came in absolutely perfectly because I'd backed up my phone the previous evening, except for 1Password which is seriously disappointing, given how much I'd started to rely on 1Password. I think I've done an earlier backup via wi-fi but even that hasn't restored. I've just downloaded the app for my Sony laptop but that hasn't helped either, since it doesn't show any data. Is there any way for you to check internally if my data is on your servers? Please help!

    I can't help with retrieving your data, but I will say that one of the attractive features that draws many users to 1Password is that your data are never out of your sole control. They never get transmitted to a 1Password server.

    I hope the support folks can help you get your data back. I'm surprised that it didn't just restore from the backup when you restored your new iPhone.

    I just wanted to confirm that @hawkmoth is correct - 1Password never sends your password data to us. We do not have servers to store it. Your 1Password data belongs to you and is entirely in your control, which means it is only stored locally on your device unless you choose to use one of the sync or backup options in the 1Password app.

    Also, an iCloud backup or iTunes backup of your entire device should include the 1Password data from your device as well. (Out of curiosity, which one of those did you use to restore your new iPhone?) But as those are both Apple's backup solutions, we don't have control over them, so unfortunately I don't know why they wouldn't have restored your 1Password data.

    If you hadn't used one of the sync or backup options in 1Password, and restoring your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup didn't restore your 1Password data, then unfortunately it sounds like your data is gone. You can try again to restore from the device backup, although I honestly don't know if that would make a difference. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you! But please do let us know if you have more questions.

    I'm sorry to hear that didn't help. Have you taken a look at howtoisolve's link above? I'm not sure if it will be helpful for you or not, but if not, I'm afraid it sounds like your 1Password data is gone. I really wish there was something else I could suggest!
