Can't viewing attachements IOS

This week I bought the app for iOS and the bundle for Windows and Mac. (all the newest versions)

Now I have a copy of the DB on the windows system (Microsoft Windows 8.1) copied manual to my Synologie NAS. The MAC makes a copy, using the sync folder option. So i have a correct copy of the DB including attachments on the MAC. (OS X Yosemite - version 10.10.1) The attachements are also open well.

With WiFi sync on the MAC, I try to get a copy on my IOS systems. (iPhone IOS version 8.1.2; iPad IOS version 8.1.2)
The sync works.

The names of the attachments can be seen, but the attchement itself is not shown. (.jpg and .pdf)

Re-install the app and reboot the device isn't work.

Output from the logging:

It seems that the decryption is not working properly.

Who can tell me what to do?

Do I must have installed some other apps?

  • Hi @Luwie,

It's not likely a decryption issue. If it was, you wouldn't be able to tap to view that attachment since you have to decrypt to know there is an attachment with the item.

Can you view your attachments on your Windows or Mac? Is the file usable? Can you create a new test item, add an attachment, sync it via Wi-Fi to your iOS devices, and see if it is working?

    Hi Agile Bits member,

The attachments are correct and properly displayed on both Windows and the Mac. When creating a new item with an attachment I get the same result.

    Hi @Luwie,

Are you adding the attachments in 1Password for Windows or 1Password for Mac? If you always add them in the Windows version, can you please try creating a new test item in 1Password for Mac and add an attachment to it, then sync it to iOS. Does it make any difference? If so, this will help us narrow down the cause of the problem.

Also, can you please let us know the exact version of 1Password you're using on Mac and iOS? In the iOS app, the version can be found on the Settings screen near the bottom. On your Mac, simply open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > About 1Password. Please also let us know if you're using the web store or Mac App Store version of 1Password for Mac.

    Thanks!

Hi Agile Bits member / Drew,

Yes, it makes a different. When I create a new item and an attachement on MAC OS, I get to see the attachment right under IOS. Both .jpg and .pdf.

The last versions i have unther MAC OS and IOS. I bought and downloaded it last week.
    MAC OS version 5.0.2 (502007)

Another issue that I would like to contribute. When I created a new vault under MAC OS and this folder sync with my copy on the NAS. That vault is created by 1Password under windows. The sync option on the Mac is not present to wifi sync with iOS devices.

    With best regards,
    Luwie van der Vegt

    Hi @Luwie,

Thanks for trying that, I'm glad to hear attachments work when added to an item in 1Password for Mac. Can you confirm that you're only using Wi-Fi sync between the Mac and iOS versions of 1Password? The reason I ask is because attachments are not supported via Wi-Fi sync between the Windows and iOS versions of 1Password right now. But if you add an attachment on Windows, sync it to Mac, and then sync it from Mac to iOS via Wi-Fi, it should work.

When I created a new vault under MAC OS and this folder sync with my copy on the NAS. That vault is created by 1Password under windows. The sync option on the Mac is not present to wifi sync with iOS devices.

Currently, Wi-Fi sync doesn't support secondary vaults in 1Password for Mac. If you have a secondary vault in 1Password for Mac and want to sync that vault with 1Password for iOS, you'll need to use Dropbox sync. I'm sorry for the confusion about that! Our developers are working on adding support for syncing secondary vaults via Wi-Fi sync in a future update, although I don't have a timeframe for that.

Hi Agile Bits member / Drew,

Yes, I can confirm that I only use Wi-Fi sync between the Mac and iOS versions of 1Password?

My current setup is a windows machine with the primary vault on a Synology NAS. This safe is synchronized by the MAC via folder sync. And IOS systems Sync via WiFi sync to the MAC.

But if I add an attachment on Windows, sync it to Mac, and then sync it from Mac to iOS via Wi-Fi, it does not work.

    Hi @Luwie,

This is sounding a bit strange. Just to confirm:

    System:

    • Windows 8.1 with "latest" 1Password (v4?)
    • OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) with 1Password 5.0.2
    • iOS 8.1.2 with "latest" 1Password (v5.1.2?)

    Attachments:

    • If you add an attachment on Windows, you can view it on your Mac, but is not viewable on iOS.
    • If you add an attachment on Mac, you can view it on iOS.

In any case, I'd like to take a closer look at your system to see if we can determine just where things are getting tangled up. I'd like to ask you to create some Diagnostics Reports, one from each of your computers.

    —Mac—
    https://guides.agilebits.com/kb/1password4/en/topic/diagnostics-report#mac4

    —Windows—
    https://guides.agilebits.com/kb/1password4/en/topic/diagnostics-report#win

Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@agilebits.com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

A short note here once you've sent the Report in will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!
