HELP: How do I add password FROM safari TO 1password - IOS ???
How do I add and save password FROM safari TO 1password in IOS??
(iPad4 , latest iOS and 1Password app)
I Have Set up the app and successfully added it to safari , and can easily open 1password within safari.
However I cannot figure out how to add my passwords from safari TO 1password.
I have followed the steps laid out in the video on Lynda.com however I don't get the popup "1password save login". Not sure what the problem is.
Any help would be much appreciated. I didn't realize it would be this difficult.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @niagara
iOS and OS X are very different and I'm afraid that there isn't the ability to save a Login from Safari in iOS like there is if you use our Browser Extension for Safari on OS X.
In OS X the extension is always present and can monitor when you're submitting what looks like Login credentials. At this point it can ask if you wish to save them.
In iOS the extension is only run when you manually instruct it to (this is a deliberate limitation imposed by Apple). Now Extensions are new to iOS 8 so this is our first attempt at them. As long as there isn't any other Apple restrictions that might impede it I'm sure we would love to eventually see the iOS extension offer to save filled in credentials, much like Saving a Login Manually in OS X.
For now though I'm afraid you're limited to creating a Login from within the 1Password app. This is our page on Create a Login item. Sorry it isn't better news at the moment.

Are you absolutely certain about this? from what I've read in the past, it was my understanding that you could.
however if that is true, then I am afraid this app is not for me as I do not have an up-to-date OS X.
(Old computer ... OS10.5.x ... long story)
It's a waste of time to manuallY transfer saved passwords from a browser into 1password.Are there any alternatives?
Is this also the case on android tablets as well.Totally disappointed.

Hi @niagara,

On iOS, there has never been a way to save a Login from Safari into 1Password. This is possible in Safari on a Mac with the 1Password extension, is that perhaps what you're thinking of?
Starting in iOS 8, Apple added "app extensions" which means third party apps can now include an extension for Safari. 1Password 5 for iOS has a Safari extension which can fill logins, but doesn't currently support saving new logins. That's definitely on our "to do" list, although I don't know exactly when that feature will be added. For now, you can manually save a new Login item in the 1Password app, and then it will be available in the extension in Safari.
For more information about the 1Password extension on iOS, please see our Extension FAQ.

1Password 3.5 was the last version to support Leopard (10.5). If you'd like to try it out, you can get it from our legacy download site.
I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you about that! If you have more questions, please let us know. :)
