Secure note lost after formatting my iPhone 6
hi, my phone was reset and wiped because it was stalling a lot, and now that I've restored 1pass everything has come back EXCEPT a very important secure note which had a lot of important passwords and information. How come only that was lost? And how do I get it back?
Thanks

Hi @Amy2015, I merged your messages about this issue together so we don't duplicate efforts or cause confusion between here and there.
I'm sorry to hear about the problems with your iPhone, and that one of your Secure Notes wasn't restored to 1Password! Can you please give us a few more details about how you restored 1Password after erasing the iPhone? Was that a device backup from iCloud or iTunes? Or did you have a 1Password backup saved on a computer that you used to restore it? Or, did you re-sync your 1Password data from iCloud or Dropbox?
Also, do you use 1Password on any other devices/computers, or just the iPhone? The more you can tell us about your setup, if you used any sync/backup options in 1Password before the phone was erased, and the method you used to restore data, the better we'll be able to help figure out if there's a way to get that Secure Note back. Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me Drew. So the phone was wiped, I downloaded it again from the app store, and I tried to restore it from iCloud - but then it wouldn't accept my master password [which was weird]. So I opened 1 password on my macbook pro and synced over Wi Fi [with secret]. That opened my 1 password on the iPhone. But the secure note was gone.

Hi @Amy2015,
Thanks for the additional information. It sounds like you have your data in 1Password on your Mac. Does that mean the missing Secure Note is still there in 1Password for Mac? Or is it also missing from the Mac app? If it's missing from the Mac, are you sure it was there before syncing?
This is a bit of a long shot, but if the Secure Note is also missing on your Mac, have you checked the Trash in the 1Password app? Just in case it was accidentally deleted, open 1Password on your Mac and click the Trash in the left sidebar to see if it's there. Like I said, it's a long shot, but worth checking.
You mentioned iCloud sync didn't accept your Master Password when you set up 1Password on your iPhone. Did you ever change your master password? If so, try setting up iCloud sync again in 1Password on your iPhone, and enter your old master password when prompted (if you still remember it). Does that work?

Hi Drew, it's missing from both the Mac and iPhone. It was there before syncing for sure. It's not in the trash. I never changed my master password. I know something doesn't add up, but I can't put my finger on where I went wrong. All I know for sure is that all the other logins are there [on both mac and iphone] but the secure note is not.

I do have an idea, but be careful! 1P for Mac makes automatic backups so you could try this:
- Disable sync on the Mac. (It's important to do that.)
- Make a new backup on the Mac (we'll call it the "new backup").
- On the Mac restore the last backup before the sync with your new phone. Find the secure note and temporarily copy the contents into something like Notepad.
- Restore the new backup from step 2 above.
- Create a new secure note, copying and pasting from Notepad.
- Re-enable sync on the Mac.
- Cross your fingers and hope it all works this time!

@Stephen_C, you took the words right out of my mouth! Actually, more like you took the idea right out of my head. ;)
@Amy2015, if that Secure Note was in 1Password for Mac before the sync, then it should be in the last backup that was created before that sync. Please let us know how that goes!
