Hey Agile Bits... SOME of us are OLDER than two of your employee's ages put together, we may not be well-schooled in how A LOT of things work on our computers (Macs). We bought them for fun, for photos, for emails and online shopping. We might have been encouraged by Apple "specialists" in the Apple stores to buy the earlier versions of 1Password, and some of us subsequently purchased 1Password for our mobile devices (iPhone/iPad). We - with some Apple help - got things working, syncing through WiFi, and they have been working well - Thanks for that! But the credit has to go to Apple, they've set the bar very high in the customer support department. They're the best in the industry, they studied and learned from the best in the hospitality business, the Ritz Carlton.

I've had bombardments from 1Password for some time now about Upgrade to This! New and Improved! More Vaults! Get this NOW! Touch one option on a window which appears when using (Version 3.8.22 currently on the Mac, Version 3.7 on iPhone), and BOOM! Version 5.1.2 is downloaded onto my iPhone and iPad - and it is TOTALLY UNCLEAR HOW ONE MIGRATES THE DATA FROM THE OLD VERSION TO THE NEWER ONES. Your coders or programmers didn't think about peeps like me as a possible issue, did they?...

Well, guess what? Y'all must have like two dozen employees, and clearly no phone support. Some of us are intimidated and frustrated by forums, they make us want to have a lobotomy. Strange as it may seem - how "old school", huh? - some of us do waaaaay better when we're shown or even - gawd forbid - told/instructed/walked through how to do things, to learn and correct and get tech things working for us again. I'll be sixty years young in ten days, and I've spent 3 hours today trying to get this sheeet figured out with trial and error, and I've still gotten nowhere. If y'all think I'm gonna waste more of my countdown days messing with forums and thousands and thousands of replies, well - then y'all aren't as sophisticated (in the support department) as you'd like your users to believe you are.

So kindly reply to this posted discussion in a simple and layperson's form of communication, will you? I figure I can either just delete the newer version apps and live with the very first one which continues to work fine - this will most likely be the easiest solution - or I can perhaps with some simple assistance try, TRY and follow simple instructions on how to migrate to the newer versions. I am not betting on the latter, I'm guessing Agile Bits isn't sufficiently funded and able to provide customer support other than in forums and discussions, which I think is the lazy way out, but if that's the best you can do, I'm prepared to accept that. I'm also prepared to tell my peers who've I recommended 1Password to to just "fergettaboutit"...

So, whatcha think about this problem? Pretend you're replying to a third grader and go easy on me, eh, like it's my first time. Thank you.

    Hello @itomiam‌

Before we continue it would be advisable to better understand your current hardware.

    OS X and iOS versions

    On your Mac

Lets find out what you're working with. If you click on the apple icon in the top left hand corner of your menu bar and select the About This Mac option (see image below).

This will open a new window where you can see what version of OS X you are running, this we'll need to know (see image below)

    On your iOS device(s)

Next we need to know about each iOS device you have, specifically the iOS version. This is how you would find out, at least on my device. Open the Settings app (on every iOS device) and go to General > About and look for the entry titled Version (see below)

    .

The other possibly useful piece of information on that page is the Model code which is just under the Carrier entry, so just hidden from view in that screenshot.

You've already said what versions of 1Password you have so we don't need you to tell us that part again.

Once we know more about your Mac and iOS device(s) we'll be in a much better place to guide you forward and make recommendations.

    Hi @Maggieburg,

We'd be happy to help you migrate your data into a newer version of 1Password - could you let us know a little bit more about your 1Password ecosystem? Please let us know the version numbers of both 1Password and your operating systems. It would be good to know what your current versions are, in addition to the newer installed versions.

Are you currently syncing your data? If so, please let us know with which service.

Once we know a bit more about your situation, we'll be able to get you those blow-by-blow instructions. :)
