Is there a way to disable the built in 1Password browser for the iOS app?

Can you explain why you want to do that? I don't think using it is required.

    Hi @Murphybp2‌

There is no way to disable the built-in browser for 1Password, but as Hawkmoth says, you certainly don't have to use it. With the new 1Password app extension in iOS 8, it's easy to browse in Safari, while still having access to your database saved in 1Password.

Could you give us a bit more detail about why you wish to disable 1Browser?

Because some some folks do not want access to the entire internet unrestricted. See, for example, a filtering browser such as Covenant Eyes. Having apps with embedded unrestricted browsers such as 1PW undermines filtering browsers.

  • Hi Denis,

Understood; and I appreciate your point. Unfortunately, at the moment, the answer is no: it isn't possible to remove access to 1Browser.

This would be a fantastic tool for many of us that want to provide this tool to our children and don't want them to have full access to the internet. I mean if Apple can put a restriction on Safari seems like Agilebits could find a way to put a restriction on the in-app iOS browser for 1Password. With this one option I'd purchase more licenses for our family.

  • Thanks for the vote, @mikeeverson1!
