I just up graded my 1Password so that I could begin using Vaults ... I created a Vault with its own password, but it is always open?? I need the vault to remain locked even when the main password is entered. How is this possible? I hope it is, that is why I upgraded.. if you can not keep the additional vaults locked then they are nothing more than folders ... maybe I am missing something? Please help. Thank you.

Currently unlocking your primary vault will automatically unlock any secondary vault. If you instead, when you start 1P, unlock a secondary vault only that secondary vault will be unlocked.

Others have requested the ability not to have secondary vaults unlocked when the primary vault is unlocked.

if you can not keep the additional vaults locked then they are nothing more than folders

I think that's not really the case. Secondary vaults can be shared with others: folders (in isolation) cannot.

Thank you very much. Unfortunately not what I wanted to here. These should not be called "vaults" then ... They are merely shareable folders. Needless to say I am very disappointed as this software is expensive.

    Hi @mtrctyjoe‌

The automatic unlocking of secondary vaults was deliberately implemented, intended as a usability feature (to make it easy for the customer). There are a few people though that do not like such an arrangement. I've added your voice to the improvement request.

Now you can unlock just a single secondary vault, that is possible. It depends on your needs and expectations but assuming the idea is you want access to say a work vault without leaving your personal vault unlocked then that would seem doable with the software as it is. If you could describe the situation maybe there is a way to make the software work?
