Chrome extension/plug-in update fail

If I missed it in the forum, please reply with a link... I've tried multiple times to get the Chrome extension to update [def. of insanity?]. It fails and tells me to download it manually from Agilebits. I've done this and I have 5.0.2 installed successfully, however, the Chrome plug-in fails.

Running:
Chrome Version 39.0.2171.95 (64-bit)
Mac OS 10.10.1

    I've managed to successfully install and use the extension so it is possible.

    Can you describe the process step by step please and let us know where it fails and if you get an error message exactly what it is saying. Hopefully this will give us a clue as to what is going wrong.
