out of date directions for reporting issues with a web site

Hi,

I'm having trouble with the logins on two websites and the information to report these isn't correct for the newest version of 1P. The first search result on the Discussions lists this: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac-kb/5/en/topic/synapse?q=report+web+site and I don't have an interface option like it shows.

Why not just have a forum here, topic or some other MUCH EASIER way to report a URL?

Thanks!

These are not "out of date" instructions: they are brand new. :) Did you see the part that says:

Synapse requires the beta version of 1Password for Mac. With the beta version installed, you can report sites directly from 1Password. You’ll also be the first to see the results of any updates or fixes for the issue you’re experiencing.

Are you using a beta version of 1P? If so, you can report via that (although at present it's preferred that you also mention any sites that misbehave with the beta on the beta forum).

Oh, thanks. i do see that it says "1Password 5" which must be a newer version. But really, it should show the date of the post so that it's possible to tell when the post was written. Is that something that can be added to the Knowledgebase? (Also, I would guess that many users don't know which version of 1P they're using and unless it's much clearer in the post title or description, there will be more confusion.

Also, if I'm not running the beta, where should I post the problems with particular websites?

    Thanks!

    Hi Don ( @dont ),

I'm sorry for the confusion here! I'll pass along the request to our developers to include dates in the Knowledgebase.

Why not just have a forum here, topic or some other MUCH EASIER way to report a URL?

The awesome thing about Synapse, when it is fully implemented, is that it will mean that users can report a website that is not working from right within the browser extension - with no need to post in the forums. Synapse will also collect all of the handy details that our developers need to know to quickly address the issue (details that often require user time and effort to collect.)

Also, if I'm not running the beta, where should I post the problems with particular websites?

For now, you can post them here in the forums. It's helpful to us if you're able to include the version numbers of 1Password, your browser and your operating systems so that we can more quickly track these issues down.

Thanks Megan, having the date would really help for those of us that are just "parachuting" in without context by clicking on a search result. I think some pages have date and time stamps on them and they're really useful.

We'll pass the suggestion along to our documentation team. Thanks again for the feedback! :)
