1Password Pro won't login to Dropbox

I'm on an iPhone 5s and for many reasons, I don't want to upgrade to iOS 8, so I'm still running 7.1.2.
My 1Password Pro seems to work fine, but I can't get it to sync with my Dropbox folder anymore. When I try to login, it tells me "Login Failed. Please make sure email and password are correct. Error: Null"
The email and password entered are correct, but I can't get past this window.
Can someone please help me?

I forgot to mention - the version of 1Password Pro that I'm running is 3.6.5 - I can't seem to update to anything newer, except one that will only run on iOS 8.

    Hi @mega4m,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with Dropbox sync! Unfortunately Dropbox sync hasn't worked in 1Password 3 for iOS (aka 1Password Pro) since Dropbox changed their API back in September 2013. But I can definitely help you to upgrade to a newer version! If you don't want to update your iPhone to iOS 8, there is a way you can still download 1Password 4 for iOS, and you can import your data from version 3 to version 4.

First, you can get 1Password 4 for iOS by following these steps:

    • Download 1Password 5 for iOS via iTunes on a Mac or Windows computer.
    • Open the App Store on your iPhone and go to Updates > Purchased.
    • Find 1Password 5 on the list of purchased apps and try to download it - the App Store should allow you to download the latest compatible version (i.e. version 4).

The import option in version 4 won't work with version 3.6.5, so you'll need to update to version 3.7.2. However, version 3.7.2 won't appear in the Updates section of the App Store. What you'll need to do is backup your 1Password 3 data first, delete version 3.6.5 from your device in order to download 3.7.2, restore your data from the backup, and finally import the data to 1Password 4. But don't worry, it should be fairly easy!

You'll need access to a computer (either Mac or Windows) in order to make the backup, and your device and computer will need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. When you're ready, go ahead and follow these steps:

    • Make a backup of your 1Password 3 data by following the steps here: https://help.agilebits.com/1Password_touch/backup.html
    • You should now have a .1ptbackup file saved on your computer - make sure you know where this file is, and keep it safe!
    • Go to App Store > Updates > Purchased and search for 1Password there. Make sure version 3 appears in your purchase history. If it does not, stop here and let us know.
    • Assuming 1Password 3 is listed in your purchase history, close the App Store, then delete 1Password 3 from your device.
    • Go back to App Store > Updates > Purchased, find 1Password 3, and tap the cloud icon to reinstall it.
    • Open 1Password 3 and set up the Unlock Code and Master Password (if it prompts you to import, tap Later).
    • Restore your data to 1Password 3 by following the steps for Restoring Data from a Backup here: https://help.agilebits.com/1Password_touch/backup.html

At this point your data should be restored to 1Password 3. If so, continue with the following steps:

    • Double-click the Home button on the device and swipe up on 1Password 3 to close it.
    • Open 1Password 4 and choose the I've used 1Password before option, then Import from previous version.
    • After a brief setup, it should launch 1Password 3 and prompt you to import data to the new version.

You should now have your data in 1Password 4 on your iPhone. Please let us know if you have any questions, thanks! :)

    Thank you, Drew.
I have one main question - All the data on my Dropbox account is completely up-to-date and that's what I use (using my desktop computer).
Since the app on the iPhone contains data that is both incomplete and inaccurate at this point, why do I even want to back up that data? Wouldn't I be better off opening a clean version of the app and just syncing it to Dropbox so it has all my current passwords and data?
Similarly, after getting the v4 app downloaded, when I opened version 3, it prompted me to import that data into the newer app. I'm not even sure why I'd try to do THAT.
I'd be convened about dated information trying to sync with my current database on dropbox, which contains many updated passwords.
    Thanks.

    Hi @mega4m,

I didn't realize you were also using 1Password on a computer, and had all your latest information there and in Dropbox - I suppose I should have asked! :) In that case, you're absolutely correct - there's really no point in importing the data from 1Password 3 on your iPhone. You can simply follow my steps to install 1Password 4 for iOS, then open it and set it up to sync your data from Dropbox.

As long as you have everything in 1Password on your computer & Dropbox (and soon in 1Password 4 for iOS), you can simply delete the 1Password 3 app from your iPhone.

Sorry for the confusion, thanks for asking about that!
