Reconciling single license: Mac App Store + Downloaded version for family sharing

Hi - I installed 1Password from the MAS a while back and I love it. I found out that I could share my license with my wife on her new iMac. So I downloaded 1Password for her machine from your website. After setting it all up and synching the shared vault, etc., I am now confused about how to get my license info set up on her machine.

Do I need to uninstall the current set up and reinstall 1Password on her machine from the MAS? If so, then I would have to log-in as me on her App Store account, etc. Seems like a real hassle...

Is there a better way?

Yes, but you will need to do a little work to get things sorted, not much though. https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac-kb/5/en/topic/switching-to-mas

Yes, unless you both are on Yosemite and you have setup family sharing. But you would need to still follow the steps above to get a licensed version on her Mac. http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201060

    Hi @nichoson‌

Thanks so much for choosing to support 1Password - we really appreciate it! @thightower has given you some great advice here. The licensing for our webstore version works slightly differently than the Mac App Store's licensing, so your best bet is to install 1Password 5 for Mac directly from the Mac App Store for your wife.

I apologize for the hassle - if you hit any snags in the process, we're here to help!
