I was previously syncing with dropbox because I was on an older version of IOS. I have updated everything and completed the checklist (iDrive enabled etc. and when I go to preferences on MAC I don't see how to stop dropbox sync and turn on icloud sync. How do I do this?

Please tell us what version of 1P you are running on your Mac and on your iOS device. As you're posting in the 1P for Mac forum I'm assuming you're concerned about some problem on your Mac, even though you refer to iOS (sorry, I'm not quite clear on that point).

In any event, looking at the AgileBits iCloud FAQ may help. Note particularly that you must be using 1P5 from the Mac App Store to use iCloud to sync 1P data. The version from the AgileBits store does not support iCloud sync following changes made by Apple on the release of OS X Yosemite.

    Hi @mentalmodels‌

In general, to disable sync you would enter 1Password's preferences, switch to the Sync tab and if you are currently syncing there should be a Change Syncing... button. Clicking on that will bring up a confirmation dialog. You can optionally delete the old sync data by ticking the checkbox but to disable all you need to do is click on the Disable Sync button.

Now Stephen was made reference to our iCloud Sync FAQ because, as of iOS 8 and Yosemite iCloud sync has changed a lot. Part of this change is we now use CloudKit, Apple's new framework for syncing in iCloud. Unfortunately CloudKit has been restricted to applications purchased from one of Apple's two stores, their iTunes Store or their Mac App Store. So if you purchased 1Password directly from us the sadly iCloud won't be an option going forward. Now if you purchased the MAS version of 1Password then this doesn't apply to you.

If you have any further questions do please ask.

  • Hi @mentalmodels‌,

The FAQ that @Stephen_C‌ linked to would be the best starting point. This usually happens because you're using the version of 1Password from our website which does not support iCloud.

    Hope this helps.
