1Password forgets license?

I'm helping a friend with this. Their 1Password install forgot their license. We got it reattached, but I wonder why that happened? The only thing they did recently was to rebuild disk permissions. Could that be the cause?

    Hi @Mr. K.,

    I doubt repairing permissions would do that unless the system marked that file as being unreadable by 1Password. Did this friend recently upgrade from 1Password 4 to 1Password 5? Are you 100% sure that the license file was previously installed? 1Password 4 had a bug where for certain users it would run without a license without prompting the user.

    I know they upgraded from 4 to 5, and I think the license was attached. It could have been the bug you refer to. Anyway, the license is applied correctly now. Thanks.
