Wifi Sync on Ad Hoc Network

I am having problems wifi syncing 1Password 5 (5.0.2) between an iMac running Yosemite 10.10.1 and an iPhone running iOS 8.1.2 (1Password 5.1.2) Both devices are connected to my home wifi network provided by an Apple Airport Time Capsule.

I have read about the Ad Hoc Network sync which I understand is useful for testing if there is a problem with how the devices are connected via wifi. When I set up an ad hoc network it appears in my list of options in the wifi sync window on my iPhone and the devices successfully sync. When I go back to my home wifi network it does not appear in my list of options in the wifi sync window on my iPhone.

With this trouble shooting test complete, does anyone know what the next steps are to make the wifi sync work?

Thanks so much for taking the time to write in. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with 1Password. It sounds like you've done some good research here already, and we really appreciate that you've taken some steps to try and work things out.

Generally, one of the first things we want to check with respect to Wi-Fi is the presence of any firewalls or proxies that might be blocking communication between 1Password and your iOS device. We've got a guide on Configuring a proxy server or firewall to allow the necessary communication. Does this help?

Thanks for your response. Great service even on a Sunday!

I have configured the proxy server as per the instructions in the link you provided but no luck, it still does not appear in my list of options in the wifi sync window on my iPhone.

I have checked in my Security Preferences and the Firewall is off.

Hi Megan,

I have carried out a Hard Reset of my Airport Time Capsule and the iMac now shows up in the sync window and successfully synchronises 1Password across al my devices!
