Re-ordering categories
I can change the order at which the iOS version of 1P displays categories. Can I do this on the Mac version? If so, how? I don't see an option to do it.

Hi @Mr. Laser Beam,
Thanks for writing in. You can do this by dragging the category in the left side bar to the position that you would like it.
I hope this helps.

Yes, it did help, much thankings. :)

But now I have a new problem: Whenever I re-order categories in that manner, 1P never remembers that I re-ordered them on any subsequent launch of the program!
Meaning: No matter how I change the order of the categories, they're all back where they started from the next time I launch the app.
The iOS versions don't have this problem. What's going on here? :(

This might be related to the bug in the current version that is described as fixed in the current series of 1P 5.1 for Mac betas:
Fixed issue where Folders, Tags and the Security Audit headers would always be collapsed after launch or when switching vaults.
Although that doesn't specifically refer to the problem you mention I do wonder if in fact you're coming across the same problem: i.e., the inability to restore to the state that column was in at the time 1P was closed.

Hi @Mr. Laser Beam,
What happens if you shut down 1Password and 1Password mini as well? Try this:
- Open 1Password, go to the 1Password Menu
- Press and hold the Control key on your keyboard to select Quit 1Password and 1Password mini from the 1Password menu
- Open 1Password again, does the categories now show up in the right sorting?
If yes, this will be fixed soon in the next update to 1Password. We have it fixed now in the beta version if you want to try using that version. If yes, let me know where you bought 1Password from and I'll explain how to switch over to the beta version.

Thanks for sharing that, @pomme4moi. As Mike mentioned this should be fixed in the next release, coming soon. :)

That's good to hear.

FYI. I just ran into the same issue and the workaround provided by MikeT worked. Of course, this leads to another question. How do I restart the mini without re-booting the computer?

How do I restart the mini without re-booting the computer?
Go to 1P > Help> Troubleshooting > Restart 1Password mini.

Hi @rlgleason51,
Open the main 1Password app first and then go to the Help Menu > Troubleshooting > Restart 1Password mini, this'll restart the mini for you.
