Old version of 1Password
About a month ago my iPhone with 1Password on it started telling me that a new version of 1Password was available. I was having other problems with my phone at the time so I did not want to complicate things with the upgrade of 1Password. I continued to have problems with my phone until I ended up having to get it replaced. I did a complete backup of my phone and then got a new phone. When I reinstalled my complete backup, everything came back except 1Password. On iTunes it says that it cannot find that version. I suspect that iTunes only has the newer version. Now I have lost my approximate 100 passwords. I have never done anything except an iTunes backup so I don't have the 1Password data backed up to iCloud, but even if I did, I'm not sure that it would go into the new version. How can I recover my lost password? The only thing I have is an iTunes backup.

Hi @woodman,
I'm sorry that you're having trouble with 1Password. Just to clarify here, did you do a specific backup of your 1Password data from within the app or are we working just with the iTunes device backup?
We have a guide to help you restore data from an iTunes backup, but you will want to do this to 1Password 3 for iOS. Please have a look in the App Store on your iOS device. In the 'Updates' section, tap on 'Purchases' to view all the purchased apps - do you see 1Password 3 for iOS there?

Thanks for the help......I was unaware that you could do a backup from within the app, so no, I have not done that only an iTunes backup. I have no idea what version I was on. I assume I'm on the latest now, but don't know for sure since I haven't done anything except load it. It's saying Welcome to 1Password....would you like to sync with an existing 1Password vault or create a new one? I will check and see when I get home if iTunes will tell me what version was installed. It's grayed out and says something like it is no longer available. I'll also take a look at the guide you gave me a link to.
BTW, I really love this program. Have told a lot of peopel about it over the years that I've been using it.

Yes, I do see it. It says version 3.7.2 and has a cloud with a down arrow.

Hi @woodman,
The cloud button means you can download it for free as you've previously purchased it. Tap on that button to download 1Password 3 again and hopefully, it should load with your 1Password data.
1Password 3 and 1Password 4/5 are separate apps, so iOS will install 1Password 3 alongside with 1Password 5 on your device.
Let me know what happens when you open 1Password 3 now.

This was a SUPER HELPFUL thread! I am not ready to go to iOS8 yet, and wanted to add 1Password to my iPhone and iPad, having used it on my Mac for more than a year. This approach installed just fine on both with no problems, and the thread on synching with Dropbox finished the job.

Happy to help!
