Syncing folders between 1Password for iOS and 1Password for Windows
I made the in-app purchase for 1password pro and was wondering how to get a refund? I was under the impression that when the product indicated that I would be able to organize logins in folders, it meant my existing folders would sync. After the purchase I found this was not the case. I don't have a need for the other features. That feature would be a great future enhancement.
I am getting ready to buy the the Windows/Mac educational bundle today if there was a way to add the credit to that. I was unable to find a way with Apple or find the refund policy.
Thanks

Hi @Murphdog
it meant my existing folders would sync
That should actually happen, and if you'd like we can help you troubleshoot why that isn't currently happening. Could you please let us know what devices & 1Password versions you are syncing with, and what sync method you are using?

You can request a refund here:
Please note that Apple does not have a money back guarantee (their official policy is that all sales are final), and when they do issue a refund, it prevents ever re-purchasing the app (or, in-app purchase in this case).
Thanks!

I am using the newest windows and IOS version on Win 8.1 Pro and on an Iphone 6 running IOS 8. All data syncs over, just on the IOS device all of the logins are alphabetical and not in folders. From google searching the issue it appeared that 1password did not support folder from Windows showing up on IOS.
Thanks

Hi
There is an organize tab. I have attached a screen shot. The iOS app allows me to create folders and tags but it is not bringing over the 18 or so folders I already have in the Windows version.0 -
I was able to create a new folder.

I just created a new, empty folder in 1Password 4 for Windows. It synced immediately to 1Password 5 for iOS on my iPhone (and to 1Password 4 for Mac).

On iOS I created a folder called "Test" under organize then synced it over WIFi. The "Test" folder shows up in Windows 1Password. After the sync only the "Test" Folder is listed under organize on the iOS devices. Nothing from Windows came over.
I deleted the app off the iOS devices and re-installed it. Synced and no folders whatsoever show up on the iOS device. Deleted the Windows 1Password and the IOS app and tried again keeping only the opvault file. Still no folders on the iOS devices.

Hi @Murphdog,
Please don't reinstall the apps, that does not fix issues often and can make it worse.
Can you rename one of your folders in the Windows app and see if that does anything? We haven't been able to reproduce the issue in our lab, so there's something specific about your data that's not syncing across.
You said opvault, are you actually using the 1Password.opvault format, not 1Password.agilekeychain?

Hi
I renamed the folder in the Windows app..even added a new folder..no folder appears under organize on my iphone or ipad.
I am using the opvault format, not not the agilekeychain.

After some testing I found the issue. The .opvault format must not support folders. I created a test .opvault database and no folders would sync. The test agilekeychain format synced the folders. Is this a bug? I rather keep my database in the opvault format.
Thanks

Many of the staff have been at a conference the past few days. Many are also under the weather (tweets from them).
Tomorrow... Monday many will be back around. I think Mikes schedule is later in the week through the weekend (based upon his posting history), so personally I wouldn't expect a reply till circa Wednesday

@Murphdog we released version 5.2 for iOS this morning. Give it a try and let us know if that changes anything.
If it does not work, as I'm sure you already did this, but I want to make sure sync is working after you update. Make sure sync is actually working by making a change to an item as well as creating a folder or two. Let me know if the item changes sync, and if the folders sync.
Thank you for your patience in this matter.

I updated the Windows client and the iOS app. This time if I create a folder on the iOS app, it seems to stay on Windows client. No folders sync onto the iOS app from Windows. I tried creating new ones and rename existing ones. I did not do testing with a new database like I did last time. I can do that tonight. I don't want to create folders primarily in iOS because they went missing in prior testing. I'm going to assume that this still only affects the opvault format. I can do further testing if you want.

@Murphdog I would be interested to know if the same thing happens with a new database. The fact that folders are showing up in Windows when you create them on iOS is very strange.

I tried a new database (opvault) and the same thing occurs. None of the Windows folders sync with iOS. When I create a folder on iOS it appears in Windows after a sync. If I put a login in the folder, it will sync back and forth with iOS. However if I rename the folder in Windows and sync, the change will not take place in iOS. Changes to the login, secure note, etc do take place.

I synced my 1password database on my MacBook with my phone today. The folders show on the iPhone. So this must be a Windows Wifi sync only bug.

I came to that same conclusion at first as well, but apparently the Windows application is doing what it is supposed to, and the problem is the iOS app not recognizing that.
