Hi!
I have the same pb : I have 1password installed on my iMac & my iPhone and I can't sync (wi-fi method) both device.
On my iPhone, it's the version 5.1.2 but on my iMac, it's the version 3.1.22.
Do I need exactly the same version on all the idevice I want to sync ?
Thanks for your help !0 -
Hi @insiem
You're essentially correct. 1Password 4 was a complete overhaul and Wi-Fi Sync changed dramatically. As a result you can Wi-Fi Sync 1Password 3 for Mac to 1Password 3 for iOS or you can Wi-Fi Sync 1Password 4/5 for Mac with 1Password 4/f for iOS but you can't Wi-Fi Sync 1Password 3 to 1Password 4/5.
Given your 1Password 3 for Mac you have two options.
- You can sync via Dropbox.
- You purchase 1Password 4/5 (this does require that you're running OS X 10.8 or higher). As an existing 1Password 3 user you can use your licence code to obtain a discount if you purchase via us. If you decided you really wanted iCloud support then you'd need to purchase 1Password 5 (requires that you're running Yosemite) from Apple's Mac App Store (MAS).
If you have any questions do please ask

Your answers are clear, thank you to both of you. I think, in order to be sure to have the best tools to work, I'll purchase (for my iMac) the same 1password version I have on my iPhone (v5.1.2). Is it possible ? Is this the latest version ? How can I proceed to purchase this version using my current licence ?
Thanks again to both of you :)0 -
Hi @insiem,
To sync via Wi-Fi with 1Password 5 for iOS, you'll want to snag a copy of 1Password 5 for Mac. To get a shiny discount, just head on over to our upgrade page and enter your current license details.
Thanks for choosing to support 1Password! If you have any trouble getting your new version set up, please let us know, we're here to help. :)
