New computer can't upgrade to V 4
Let me start from the beginning —
My old computer, running Lion 10.7.5, had version 3.8.22 installed. This was migrated to the new computer running Yosemite 10.10.1.
When I run 1Password and go to HELP - About 1Password 4 I get the error message.
So how do I upgrade version 3 and do I upgrade to version 4 or go directly to version 5?
Now to my iPad — License info shows 4.0.9.
Since the desktop is running version 3 the iPad logins have not been updated for quite some time since the different versions do not communicate with each other.
Will updating the desktop version to 4 or 5 get the iPad in sync with the desktop?
Last item — Firefox has two icons; 1P and a key. Both open version 3.8.22.
Chrome Extensions shows version 3.9.21.90 Enabled
Need help to unwind this.

Hi @RKinLV,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with 1Password right now.
Which error message are you seeing when you go to 'HELP - About 1Password 4'?
So how do I upgrade version 3 and do I upgrade to version 4 or go directly to version 5?
The upgrade from 1Password 3 to 1Password 4 is a paid upgrade. As an existing user, you are entitled to a discount on a 1Password 4/5 license. (The upgrade from 1Password 4 to 1Password 5 is a free upgrade, so you'll only pay once!) Simply head on over to our upgrade page and enter your existing license key to see your available discount.
If you're using Yosemite, you'll want to use 1Password 5, as it's our latest and greatest version, and is designed especially to look and work wonderfully in Apple's newest operating system.
Will updating the desktop version to 4 or 5 get the iPad in sync with the desktop?
1Password 3 for iOS is no longer able to sync via Dropbox, so updating your desktop won't get your data in sync. (To sync 1Password 3 for iOS, you would want to use Wi-Fi Sync with 1Password 3 for Mac).
If you're using iOS 8 though, I would strongly recommend updating to 1Password 5 for iOS. It's a free download (with some Pro Features available via a one-time in app purchase.)

This is a known issue with the 1Password 3 browser extension. Once we get you upgraded to 1Password 5, you'll be using the 1Password 4 browser extensions which will display properly in your browser.
I hope this helps, but we're here if you have any further questions or concerns! :)
