Confused about licensing for Mac and iOS

I downloaded and installed 1Password 4 on my Mac for free and later upgraded to 1Password 5.

I also installed 1Password for iOS on my iPhone paying something around $19.95 at the time (I believe).

1Password on my Mac is now saying that my trial has expired.

Can I use the 1Password for iOS license for my Mac?

Does the license for 1Password 5 on Mac include use on the iPhone? If so, can I apply the cost of the iOS license to a Password 5 license?

Do I have to purchase a new license for 1Password 5 for Mac?

  • Hi @bgolder‌

I'd be happy to help you figure out the most cost effective licensing option for you.

First please be sure you've reviewed this thread: Trial Expired notice in 1Password 5 for Mac?

To start: 1Password is sold on a per-platform basis (in part because Apple is the exclusive distributor of all iOS apps and does not offer a method for bundling). So, 1Password for Mac and 1Password for iOS are separate.

    • If you need/want iCloud sync, you'll need to purchase 1Password for Mac from the Mac App Store: http://j.mp/1PmasCS
    • If you do not need/want iCloud sync, you can also purchase from our online store: https://agilebits.com/store
    • 1Password for iOS is only available in the iTunes App Store: http://j.mp/1PasCS
    • 1Password 5 for iOS is a free app with an in-app purchase for Pro features. If you had previously purchased 1Password 4 for iOS you can unlock the Pro features free of charge (assuming you use the same Apple ID you originally purchased with).

I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.
