A lot of questions regarding 1Password. Please bear with me :)

Hi,

I am currently using LastPass and I'm not happy about it plus a bit disappointed. Here are a few issues that I found out, no multiple credit card support, multiple phone numbers support is confusing (there's an evening phone, stuff like that, it would be better if they used work phone, home phone, mobile phone), websites with random characters on its address confuses LastPass, making it unable to fill in the automatic login details, example (http://www.website.com/login?=random_code_characters_here), it does not have a "restore to default settings" button, its default settings are really not the default at all, I had to read the online guide/manual in order to reset things to default and finally, a feeling that I am just using a non-professional product that is not mainly for production use.

I'm thinking of 1Password. I hope to it on my Mac, Windows (through Boot Camp and VMware) and my iPhone.
I would like to know if you offer any trials and discounts for your product. I am currently using LastPass through https://lastpass.com/edupromo.php

I am a Mac, Windows (through BootCamp and VMware) and iPhone user.

Thanks.

    Hi @AdventureTime‌,

There is a free 30 day trial: https://agilebits.com/store/licenses

Give it a go. There's a built-in LastPass importer that can handle Logins and Form Fill items on the Mac (other items go to Secure Notes). There's also a converter that handles all of LastPass' types: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/30286/mrcs-convert-to-1password-utility/p1

Can it import LastPass and Keychain passwords? How much is the pricing for 1Password Mac, Windows and iPhone?

The pricing options are described on the AgileBits webstore, here. You likely want to buy the Mac-Windows bundle. However, be aware that you will not be able to use iCloud to sync among devices unless you buy the Mac version from Apple at the Mac App Store. But iCloud syncing isn't available by Apple's choice to non-Apple software (Windows in your case), so iCloud probably isn't of concern to you anyway.

The iOS version is sold separately. It's free to download and use in its basic version. More advanced Pro features are available as an in-app purchase, presently for US$9.99. You can use it on all your iOS devices, as long as all use the same Apple ID for purchases. Apple does not provide for trial versions or bundles.

@MrC gave you good advice about downloading a trial and seeing what you think. He's also a generous provider of conversion software if you have trouble with the build-in ones.

Wow, thanks for that. Thanks @MrC‌ and @hawkmoth‌
I can't believe that I have to purchase an iOS app after purchasing 1Password. How much is the usual discount when upgrading from one major version to another? So in short, I won't be able to use the iCloud sync?

If you want to sync your Windows installation with your others, yes, you won't be able to sync via iCloud. Don't blame AgileBits for that. It's Apple policy.

  • Apple has not made CloudKit (the iCloud technology apps like 1Password use) available on Windows. We have Dropbox syncing available on all supported platforms.

The iOS app is free, but there is an optional in-app purchase for Pro features, which you can read about on the iTunes Store page for 1Password:

How much is the usual discount when upgrading from one major version to another?

    1Password 3 for Mac -> 1Password 4 for Mac was 50% off. 1Password 4 for Mac -> 1Password 5 for Mac was 100% off. So, there is some variation.

    Thanks.
