Sign in problem
I have been on a trip and have not used Ipassword for over a week and do not have access to my Mac. When I try to sign in to my IPad version I cannot use the fingerprint because of how long I have been signed off.
My problem is what I believe to be my password no longer works. Does your software lock you out after so many try's and if so how long and after how many tries?
If I delete and reinstall the IOS version will it delete the pass words store don the Mac?
Thanks

No, you can try as many times as you like and you won't be locked out.

I strongly recommend you first turn of 1P sync on the iPad and only then delete the app. Deleting the app on the iPad will delete all the 1P data on the iPad but it will still be present on your Mac. However, you're obviously still going to need to remember your master password to access your 1P data on your Mac.
There are some tips that may help you remember your master password in this knowledge base article.

Just to confirm, deleting the app on the iPad will not delete the data on your Mac.
If it doesn't let you in now, then it is likely the master password has been entered incorrectly. Have you recently changed the master password on your Mac. If you have, and you haven't synced with the Mac in a while (or you are using an older version of 1Password, where master password changes did not sync), try the previous master password that you used. That may let you in.

Thanks guys,
Part of the problem is I have been at the other end of the country from my Mac for the past couple of weeks. I'll be home in a few days and solving the problem will hopefully be a lot easier.0 -
Great. Please keep us updated. :)

Regretfully the password that I had on my MAC also no longer works. I am reaching the point of diminishing returns trying to find a working password. What is the easiest way to start over with this program on my Mac and two IPads?
Thanks for any advice.

On the basis that it's going to lose all of your existing 1P data:
- simply delete the app on your iPads;
- follow exactly these instructions for starting over on the Mac.
Please note I've assumed you're using 1P4 or 1P5 on the Mac.

Yes I am using 1P5. After reinstall following your instructions for the version purchased from the Agilbit Store can all the files moved to the desktop be moved to the trash?
Sure wish I could figure out what I did to trash my password. First time in many years I lost a password and it had to be this one!
Thanks again for your help.0 -

Yes, if you're abandoning all of the old, inaccessible data and really starting afresh.

Yes, I do sympathise. It really is the "one password" you don't want to forget!

Stephen,
One last question. Is there anyway I can restore from a backup after reinstalling?0 -
Thanks for everybody's help. I gave up and restarted which is what I should have done a week ago. All my passwords are saved in Roboform so restoration is not that bad, just a pain under iOS, but fine on the Mac.
Thanks Again0 -
Hi @Chick, I'm sorry to hear you needed to reset 1Password and start over, but luckily it sounds like you'll be able to get at least most of that data back again. If you can get your data from Roboform to 1Password on your Mac, you can then sync it to 1Password for iOS. In case it helps, we have information about importing your data. (Please see the very bottom of that article for a note about Roboform.)
