How do I join my husband's Family License, when I used to have a single license?

The license terms changed when version 5 was released. A single user license now allows for use by up to six family members. All you need to do is install a copy of 1Password 5 and add the license file that your husband already has. The family license has been discontinued.
I'm going to defer to others on the question about importing your data, but I believe the new installation should find and import your data automatically. The only reason I'm reluctant to say so with complete confidence is that I'm not sure if the jump over version 4 matters.

I understand the license terms have changed, thank you.
I have installed a copy of 1Password5, and all my data from my previous license / version is currently there.
I don't understand how to "add the license file that your husband already has".
He can not send me the full 1Password5 file, as it is 55MB (I guess we could share over dropbox or a thumbdrive, but that can't be how family licenses work).
There is no evident way to send my husband's pop-up with the license number and the gold seal.
There is no place I can find to enter the family license number on my version of 1Password5.0 -
Have him send you the license file or the email he received during the purchase. When you get the email click the link that says register now. If you having issues finding the auto register link... Then click the link for view complete installation instructions. Gmail has been stripping some of the links, like the auto register link.
If that fails have him open his copy of 1Password look inside the software section, and find the entry for 1Password application. The license file will be attached. He can drag the file to the desktop then send it to you in an email, messages, AirDrop etc.
When you get it drag it to the desktop, and then drag it into the license window inside the outline of the gold seal.
When you complete the license step you will then have a copy of the license file auto created as a software entry inside your 1Password vault.

In fact, I don't understand how to add any of the other family members under this new 1Password5 license.

Perhaps your last post crossed paths with @thightower's message just above yours. You would add all family members, up to six living in the same household, the same way as you would for yourself, following those instructions.

Hi @skish,
Thanks for taking the time to write to us :+1:
The 1Password license requires a single email address, therefore we cannot add/associate your husband's email address to the same license.
Instead, you can use the share menu from the detail view and email your license to any of your family members as seen in the screenshot bellow.
Once they receive they email, they'll need to click on the link and a new 1Password Software License item will be added to their 1Password vault. They now need to double-click on the attachment to license 1Password.
Hope that this helps
Best,

Thank you. My husband dug up the license purchase and then sent to me, I clicked and was all set - including a new file for 1password. Thank you all very much.
Perhaps you want to make this more clear in the instructions - we have spent 2-3 hours trying to figure it out, and I can't imagine that is your intention. We like the product a lot.

Hi @skish
Thank you for your comments. Can I just confirm, was this page the one you were trying to follow but didn't find clear? Adding a license to 1Password. If it isn't can you let us know what you were looking at (a URL would be great) and where it got confusing. The better we can understand our customers the better for us so your comments are invaluable.
