1Browser and non-https sites

I just updated to iOS version 5.2. Using 1Browser I can't connect directly to non-https websites. If I type in cnn.com (for example) I get the message "Failed to load page. Could not connect to the server." However, if I Google search for cnn in the address bar, click on CNN in the results list, I do go to the cnn.com webpage. It looks like I am eventually redirected to an https version of the CNN site.

Is 1Browser forcing me to go to https sites only? Being a new version I checked in the 1Browser settings and didn't see any applicable choices.

Thanks for any help.

  • Hi @JamesMays‌

Have you tried adding the appropriate prefix (e.x. http://cnn.com)?

Using the full URL did work. Was this a change by design for this new version? In the previous versions it wasn't necessary. Thanks for your help!

  • There have been some changes to the login handling that could have effected some sites. The end result will be more robust site handling and security.
