Issues Upgrading to 1Password 5

I recently tried upgrading to 1Password 5 via the app store. I got an error while doing this and was instructed to download the app directly via the agilebits.com site. I did that and the install worked fine but now I can't enable sync via iCloud. How do I fix that? I much prefer to have my keychain stored in iCloud than in dropbox.

    I'm puzzled by the message directing you from the Mac App Store to the AgileBits web store. I haven't any idea why that happened if you purchased your license from Apple.

    But I can explain why the AgileBits version doesn't show iCloud as a sync option. When Yosemite came out, Aplle restriction access for this purpose only to applications purchased from Apple. The AgileBits version lost iCloud as an option because of Apple's decision.

    If your ant iCloud syncing, you'll need to get back the the Mac App Store version.

    I'm also a bit puzzled about the message you said directed you to download it from our site instead of the Mac App Store. But in any case, if you purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store, you should definitely be able to install the latest update from the Mac App Store (and will need to do so in order to keep using iCloud sync, as hawkmoth mentioned). Please note that 1Password 5 requires Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite).

    If you downloaded our web store version, you can delete that app (don't use any cleaning tools to delete other files - just delete the app itself). Next, open the Mac App Store and go to the Purchases section. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase 1Password, and you should see it listed there. Does it have an Install or Update button next to it? If so, go ahead and click that. If you get any error messages, please let us know exactly what they say (or feel free to post a screenshot).
