I started getting the exact same crash today. I just started using a password manager, and this was my biggest fear (being locked out from all of my passwords).

Mac 10.10.1 and then updated to 10.10.2 (crash in both).

fyi, I re-downloaded from the agilebits site, and copied over the existing installed, and it started working again.

@MikeT is watching for these errors, which have affected several users. He would like to get some information from you before you proceed farther. There is a cure now, but it will help everyone if this stops happening to anyone.

    Hi guys,

Sorry for the trouble! We're investigating some cases where the app somehow gets corrupted (the HockeyApp framework is missing). As you discovered, re-installing the app is the current fix.

For anyone else having the issue, this should fix it:

    • Open your Applications folder
    • Locate the 1Password 5.app in the list
    • Drag it to the trash can.

      • Please don't use any uninstaller applications, these may remove more than just the application, such as your data. We do not recommend that. We only want to remove the application, none of the extra items.
    • After dragging it to the trash, please empty your trash, then restart your computer.

    • After the reboot, please download a fresh copy of 1Password 5 from here: https://agilebits.com/downloads
    • Once downloaded, unzip if necessary and drag it to the Applications folder. Then double click to run it.
