Wi-Fi Sync keeps bouncing on iOS, no indication complete

Performed a Wi-Fi sync from Mac to iOS. The sync screen on the iOS (actually, a couple rows) kept bouncing, never ending. The timer kept repeating itself. There was no indication the sync had/was completed. Is there one? How does one know to stop/deactivate the Wi-Fi server on the Mac app? What is the best way to stop the process on the iOS? Exit or quit the iOS app?

Mac v5.1 (510027)
iOS v5.2 (502015)

    Hi @rmainz,

The bouncing on the Sync screen will happen if the Larger Text option in the iOS Accessibility settings is set larger than the default size (it's a known issue our developers are working on). You can check that in the Settings app under General > Accessibility > Larger Text. If the "Larger Accessibility Sizes" option is turned off, the default slider position is the very center (or if larger sizes are enabled, the default slider position is in the middle of the small and medium sizes). Do you have that set to be larger than default?

As for the sync itself, when you go to Settings > Sync in 1Password, what does it show next to Last Sync? If it is currently syncing, it should say it's in progress. If it is finished, it will show how much time has passed since the last sync. It's normal to see that repeat itself, because it's checking to see if there are any updates in 1Password on your Mac.

If it's working normally, you don't need to do anything to stop the sync process. It will stop checking if you close the app on Mac or iOS.

I hope that helps, but please let us know if you have more questions about that. :)

    Thank you.

The iOS Setting for Larger Text option was set to Off, but when clicked, I realized on the following screen I had previously dragged the slider to a larger font. Putting the font back to halfway stopped the bouncing effect in 1Password for iOS on sync screen.

Last Sync indeed shows several hours ago... But I can't recall if it showed that when I quit or if it was still in progress. I find it hard to believe I would have quit it if it were still in progress.

The bouncing really had me worried, I thought that was some indication it was still pushing/pulling data...

Nonetheless, I kept track of a few deliberate changes I made before the Wi-Fi sync and they indeed synced, so all is well.

Thank you for clarifying the bouncing.

  • Thanks for the update Ryan ( @rmainz ). I'm glad to hear the changes are indeed syncing. We'll continue to work on improving the user interface so it is clear what 1Password is doing and when.
