Cannot restore from iCloud
Dear all,
I´m running the latest version of 1P on just one device (iPhone with iOS 8.1.3). Within iCloud Drive, the tab corresponding to 1Password was enabled, so I thought that if I had to restore my phone, my vault wouldn´t be missing. I had to wipe the phone and everything was perfectly restored except my 1Password vault. When I try to restore from iCloud, it says that no data was found. Have I lost my vault?
Thank you in advance and best regards

Hi @joseqp,
By any chance did you at any point make a backup of your vault following these instructions?
Please let us know.

Hello Ben,
Thanks for the quick response. I do have a back up file in iTunes of the phone (normal iPhone back up) but I didn´t manually backed up the vault. I checked and there are no files (documents) associated to the 1P app.0 -
Hi @joseqp,
If you have a backup of your iPhone in iTunes, that might restore your 1Password data if you use that to restore the entire iPhone. We don't have control over the device backups in iTunes and have noticed they don't always reliably restore 1Password data, but it might be worth a shot if you don't have your 1Password data anywhere else.
I had to wipe the phone and everything was perfectly restored except my 1Password vault.
After wiping your iPhone, did you restore it from an iCloud backup? If not, how did you restore it?
When I try to restore from iCloud, it says that no data was found.
Do you mean that you tried using the iCloud sync option in 1Password? That would only re-sync your data if you had previously been using the iCloud sync option in 1Password (it is a sync option and has nothing to do with the iCloud backup of your device in the Settings app). From your description, it doesn't sound like you were previously using iCloud sync in 1Password, but please let me know if you were.
By any chance, did you ever use Dropbox sync?
If you only had your 1Password data on that iPhone, didn't use the Dropbox or iCloud sync options, and didn't save a backup file for 1Password (as described in the link that Ben gave you), then you'll probably want to try restoring the iPhone from the device backup in iTunes. If that doesn't restore your 1Password data, then unfortunately it sounds like your 1Password data is gone.
Please let us know if you need more help with that, I hope you're able to restore your 1Password data!

Hello Drew,
I restored it from an iCloud backup. I´m 100% sure that within iCloud Drive (Settings/iCloud/iCloud Drive) the 1Password tab was enabled and i´m also positive that the iCloud sync function was enabled within 1P. Is there a way to check if the vault file is in iCloud? If not, I´ll try restoring from my iTunes backup.

I could get back the vault by restoring from my iTunes backup.

Perfect. Thanks for the update.

This doesn't actually do anything. We do not intentionally list 1Password in association with iCloud Drive. Apple automatically adds it there because we have the ability to sync with CloudKit.
