I don't know if I did something to cause this. I do know that my Mac told me I had an OS X update to install this morning, which I did (to v10.10.2). I hadn't opened 1Password in a while, most likely. Now I get this burp when I do try to open it.

Any idea what's going wrong? I need my passwords.

I'm having the same problem. I just updated to the latest version of 1password and get the same message. Running Yosemite 10.10 on my Mac
Book Pro. I have paid for the app, but when I go to the App Store to reinstall, I am asked to pay for it again. Can you please send me the fix for this

I am also experiencing this. Please assist.

  • Hi guys,

Can you tell me what size you see for 1Password 5.app in your Applications folder, is it 36.8 or 56.8MB? I'm going to send you guys a PM on how to help us fix this and also how to resolve this on your Macs.

    @lynnmc1227,

I have paid for the app, but when I go to the App Store to reinstall, I am asked to pay for it again.

I looked up your email address, you bought 1Password at our web store, not Apple's store. Which means, you can download 1Password again from our website here: http://agilebits.com/downloads

First, please let me know what size you see. We're seeing patterns that 1Password is smaller than it should be.

Hi Mike T. Mine is 36.8

  • Hi @lynnmc1227,

After you follow my instructions in the PM, please let me know what size it shows after the reinstall.

    Thank you. Will do.

  • Thanks!

By the way, for anybody here, are there any tools on your Mac that reduces files for any reason? I'm seeing a big pattern that almost everyone affected has their 1Password 5.app file reduced by precisely 20MB.

I'm not sure if there are tools that reduce the files.
I tried this but it never collected the information so I was not able to send it to you:

[Edited by Mike to remove the instruction that should be private]

I was able to reinstall the latest version of 1password and it's working fine now. Thank you so much for your help.
Bye the way the newly installed 1passwaord is 56.8MB

Hi, I'm having the same problem as that described above. My application size is 36.8 MB. Should I download from the website again?

@jichikawa if you're able to wait to hear from @MikeT please do so because you might be able to give him some really useful debug information (if he still needs it). I've pinged him so he's aware of your post.

Hi! I've got the same issue. My email may differ from the one that I'm using here since I prefer using distinct to the different services. In PM I can send the possible ones that are in your database, but it should belong to the same domain as the here registered one.

Hi, same problem. 1password 5 won't open after doing the latest OS upgrade. Help would be appreciated.

The advice I gave in post #23 still stands. If you are able for a response from @MikeT he'll probably appreciate it as it may well help him isolate the cause of the problem. (I suspect he's in a Canadian time zone so you may have to be a little patient: sorry about that!) If you're really desperate to get access to 1P again do please post back and someone will help.
