edited February 2015 in Mac

Due to a failed migration from Mac Pro (older) to Mac Pro (Intel) because of a failed back-up, I have lost 700 gigs of data, including all the passwords I created since Oct 2013 until Jan 10 2015. FYI I purchased 1Psswd 3 back in 2010 as a download. The Senior Apple Tech support rep told me to contact Agile because we can't figure out how to get the data reinstalled (we had to do a data recovery using ProSoft 3 for older Mac). We found what we think are the files but its not letting us read/recover the data into the app on my new Mac. Please help if anyone has any info, I've been working on recovering data almost non-stop for the last several weeks and the missing password info is killing me. If you provide a phone contact i can have the Sr. Apple tech call you directly to troubleshoot. Thank you in advance!

    Hi @Geaton,

I'm sorry to hear about the problems with your Macs! :(

If you were able to recover 1Password 3 data from your old Mac, it should be fairly easy to restore that to 1Password on your new Mac. If you were syncing 1Password 3 with Dropbox, you shouldn't need the 1Password data from your old Mac at all. But if you weren't syncing with Dropbox, the default location of your 1Password 3 keychain file would have been here:

    ~/Library/Application Support/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain

Alternately, you can restore your data from 1Password 3 backup files. Those files would have names like 1Password_DATE_FORMAT.agilekeychain_zip (where DATE_FORMAT would be the date the backup was made). The default location for 1Password 3 backup files would have been here:

    ~/Library/Application Support/1Password/Backups/

Do you have either the keychain file or backup files from 1Password 3? If so, please also let us know which version of 1Password you've installed on your new Mac, and we can help you get 1Password up and running again. Thanks!
