Which version to purchase?
Need this for:
1 school-issued macbook (spouse)
2 work-issued macbooks (me)
1 work-issued iPad (me)
1 work-issued iPhone (me)
1 personal iPhone (spouse)
Unclear whether the app store version allows you to share with a family member.
If I don't buy the app store version, then would I have to buy another license if I am no longer employed at my current job and need to return my devices?
Just as a side note, any devices I purchase in the future will likely be Mac or ios.
Thanks for any info.

Hi @mbendall,
Thanks for your questions! For your Macs and iOS devices, you'll need 1Password for Mac, and 1Password for iOS (they are sold separately).
The Mac version is available from our web store, or from the Mac App Store. The main difference is that only the Mac App Store version has the iCloud Sync feature. Both versions have the Dropbox and Wi-Fi sync features.
If you purchase a license for 1Password for Mac from our web store, that can be shared by up to 6 family members living in the same household. You (and your other family members) can install 1Password on all your Macs, including your work Mac. Assuming you or your spouse purchase the license (i.e. it is in your name, not your employer's name), you don't need to purchase another license if/when you return your work devices.
If you purchase 1Password for Mac from the Mac App Store, that purchase will be associated with your Apple ID. You can install it on all your Macs, as long as you're signed into the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase it. The Mac App Store version of 1Password is eligible for Family Sharing, so you and your spouse can both use it even if you use different Apple IDs for purchases.
The iOS version of 1Password works a bit differently. 1Password 5 for iOS is a free download, and offers free basic features. If you would like to unlock the Pro Features in 1Password 5 for iOS, you can do so with an in-app purchase. You would only need to purchase the Pro Features once and can unlock them in 1Password 5 on all your iOS 8 devices associated with your Apple ID. In-app purchases are unfortunately not included in Apple's Family Sharing feature, so Pro Features would be a separate purchase on devices associated with your spouse's Apple ID.
I hope that helps to answer your questions, but let us know if you have more! :)
