Ismus with pro features iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 (both with iOS 8.1.3)

Hi,
I have purchased the pro features on my iPhone 6 and synchronized with Dropbox which is just great.
Now I wanted to get the pro features on my iPad Air 2 as well by "Restore purchases".
The Apple-ID (1password was purchased with) is the same on both devices.

How can I get the pro features running also on the iPad without paying again?

Are you saying that it doesn't work when you use Restore purchases on the iPad? If you do use the same Apple ID on both (as you say), and are logged on to the App Store with that same ID on the iPad, that should work. What happens when you do it? What error message do you get?

    Hi Stephen,

yes, it doesn't work on the iPad.
The message is: purchases are restored
This message appears but nothing happens...just as if everything is frozen...

    Hi @DonEddie,

sorry for the troubles you are having. When you say 'everything is frozen' after restoring the purchase do you mean 1Password is not reacting anymore?

What you should see is the amount of tabs in the app changing from 3 to 4. Is that not happening for you?

If you force quit 1P (double click the home key then swipe up on the app) and then re-start it is it still asking you to restore purchases?

And to chime in, I've read here that some folks have gotten around this kind of problem by disabling Touch ID temporarily.

@Winnie: things just happen... ;-) Actually there is neither the additional tab nor any of the other pro features visible. The "purchase restore" is just hanging up and nothing is happening at all. When returning e.g. to "Logins" it is working fine except the pro features...

@Stephen_C: yes, I have forced 1P to quit several times without any success. After restarting the app same issue. I am able to click on "Restore purchases" ...and same issue...nothing happens...

@hawkmoth: I faced this issue the first time with Touch ID disabled. Then I tried it with Touch ID enabled...same issue.

    Any other ideas?

    Hi @DonEddie,

Thanks for the additional info, I'm sorry you're having trouble with this!

Do you have all of your latest data in 1Password on your iPhone? If so, please try these steps on your iPad:

    • Delete the 1Password 5 app from the iPad
    • Open the Settings app and go to iTunes & App Store
    • Make sure the Apple ID shown there is the one you used to purchase Pro Features
    • Reboot your iPad (hold down the power button for a few seconds and "slide to power off", then turn it back on again)
    • Reinstall 1Password 5 from App Store > Purchased
    • Open 1Password 5 and go to Settings > Pro Features
    • Tap Restore Purchase and confirm that you’d like to restore

Allow some time to see if Pro Features are enabled in 1Password. Does this help at all, or does it still get stuck? If it's still a problem, let us know what happens and we'll take it from there, thanks!

    Hi Drew,

thanks a lot for your feedback and detailed description.
I have already executed these steps exactly as described...nothing.
    I got stuck again... :-(

Again I clicked on "Restore purchases". The system is telling me that the purchases are going to be restored --> the text is greyed out.
After some time the text is blue again...(chain reaction...).

I highly appreciate your support as all good proposals from here as well as my own ideas didn't work out at all... :-(

    Regards,
    Eddie

  • Good morning @DonEddie, sorry for the trouble you're having restoring the Pro features on you iPad. There is another thing I'd like for you to try. Within 1Password on your iPad please tap on Settings > Advanced > Diagnostics > Log Settings and enable In-App Purchase logging (at the bottom).

Once you've done that please attempt to buy the in-app purchase on your iPad. As long as you are using the same Apple ID you will not be charged a second time, but should instead be prompted to re-download the product.

If that fails then please attempt to restore the purchase one more time. If that also fails then we're going to need you to send in a diagnostic report. You can do that by tapping on Settings > Advanced > Diagnostics > Send Diagnostics.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

    Hi MrRooni,

thanks a lot four your advices!

I have executed the steps as proposed...

The pro features are active now...BUT...
Not so funny the result regarding the charge...I got charged with € 9,99 for the iPad even though I paid for the iPhone version already (same Apple ID)...

    Cheers,
    Eddie

I'm sorry to hear you had that problem. However, as AgileBits has no control over the App Store it's something you should pursue direct with Apple as, if what you say is right, it sounds as though something is wrong (so to speak!).

    Hi @DonEddie,

I do apologise it has gone this way. As Stephen_C has said, we don't have any control or influence here so you'll need to approach Apple and the sooner the better. The easiest way is to use this URL http://reportaproblem.apple.com/ You'll log in and then hopefully you'll see the in-app purchase at the top of the list. Then you can report the issue. If you end up conversing with Apple it might be useful if you can confirm with them that the previous in-app purchase is recorded and according to them exists.
