vault switching has never worked
I have had multiple vaults ever since I upgraded once and the feature appeared.
I have never been able to switch vaults and have the list view change.
It always display the primary vault.
The top-left vault-selector indicates the secondary vault. The list view is just the primary vault contents.
The search widget says "search primary vault".
It has always been that way. It is still that way. I am now on the AppStore 1Password5 version.
Same old crap.
I just used the SwitchToVault menu to switch to vault 3. This time the top-left vault selector did not change. It has become inactive (greyed out pop-up list selector). The CMD-{1,2,3} keys do not work.
I can (sometimes) get the 'mini' to switch vaults, which is usually how I access the things in the non-primary vault, but I think it is time someone fixed this so that it worked correctly. How about it?

I see that I bitched about this in April 2014.
Do you people really think I hang about in your support forums waiting for a reply?
If you do not send me email, I will never come back again until something really pisses me off sufficiently and I have some more time to waste. Not very often for the latter. Too often for the former.0 -
The April/2014 suggested I quit everything and restart. A typical support "try this and hopefully you will go away" tactic.
For the record, that does not fix it.
I can state that using the mini vault selector, it works correctly, changing the vault in the main window as one would expect.
The main window vault-selection still does not change the main window view.

After al tlhat, I just discovered the account I was looking for is, after all, in the primary vault. ;-)

Hi @amgems,
Let's attended to being notified to responses first. Go to you profile page (at https://discussions.agilebits.com/profile) and you will see an edit profile button like below
Click on that and then select the Notification Preferences option in the list on the left hand side. You'll be greeted with a list of options as follows
I would recommend the one circled so that whenever we use @amgems (as everybody at AgileBits tends to do) you will be notified.

Now to the issue @amgems,
You're correct, you did post here in April and I see we posted the same day. What I can't tell is how long the thread was open before it was closed. Yes we did ask you to quit both 1Password and 1Password mini completely in the hope it might assist but we also covered how to revert to a previous backup and that if that still resulted in no progress alternative means of getting a diagnostic report to us.
Something is damaged in your vault and no update to the 1Password application is going to resolve this. This will require being manually fixed. I don't know why it would have happened and given it started back in April it is unlikely we're going to discover why in any current logs.
The first task you will want to complete is to create new items in your Primary vault for anything stored in these damaged secondary vaults that you seem unable to access. So if you can get 1Password mini to show them then copy down all the pertinent information and create new items using it. From your previous thread it sounded like this referred to just 5 items, hopefully that is still the case.
With everything in your Primary vault you will want to export the entire contents using the drop down menu option File > Export > All Items.... You will be asked for your Master Password and then asked where you would like to save this. Pick your Desktop and save.
Now you will want to follow our Starting Over guide. Every step is important and please note to move the folder to your Desktop or somewhere equally safe, that way you still have it if required.
After the reboot 1Password will behave as if it was never run. Create a brand new vault (you can reuse your previous Master Password, that's not an issue) and then use the drop down menu option File > Import.... Select your .1pif export from before.
At this stage you should have a fully populated and new Primary vault. If you wish you are free to try secondary vaults again. They do work. While I only have two secondary vaults, one of our community moderators has about 13 I think - your experiences are not meant to be the norm.
Once you've verified everything is working and nothing seems amiss we will need to deal with your .1pif export data that will still be sitting on your Desktop. That is a copy of your vault but in unencrypted form so we need to take care to securely remove it. My suggestion is to first empty your Trash and then drag the .1pif folder to your Trash. In Finder there is a drop down menu option, Finder > Secure Empty Trash.... This will properly remove the plaintext version of your vault. We emptied your Trash beforehand because this action can be quite time intensive on a hard drive and you don't want to be doing this on files not requiring that extra degree of caution e.g. old versions of .ipa files or applications etc.
If you have any questions regarding any of this please do ask.
