Can I sync a new install of 1Password 4 without Dropbox or iCloud. Due to work restrictions I cannot upgrade yet to Yosemite, so I need to use 1Password 4. Due to work restrictions I am unable to use Dropbox or iCloud. I have working copies on a home Mac (1Pass 5, Yosemite) and iPhone.

    Hi @KD,

You certainly can install 1Password without using Dropbox or iCloud. To get 1Password 4, you'll need to download a 'Legacy' version from our downloads page (just scroll to the bottom of the page to find the appropriate version.)

If you originally purchased 1Password directly through us, you'll already have the necessary license file. If you purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store and need a license generated for you, please send your Mac App Store receipt in to our team at support+licenses@agilebits.com and we'll hook you up.

Now, to get your data onto your office computer, I recommend using Folder Sync to create a copy of your 1Password.agilekeychain file on your home Mac and copying this file to a USB drive. (You will need to disable any existing sync to use Folder Sync, but you can re-enable it after the keychain file has been created.)

This drive can then be brought to work and copied onto your work computer. Store this file in a memorable location on your work computer. When you open 1Password for the first time, it should detect this file and prompt you for your Master Password. If not, you can use the 'I've used 1Password before' option and point 1Password at the datafile on your computer.

Please note that you will have to manually update the keychain file when you change passwords.

I hope this helps, but we're here if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Thanks Megan.
I had similar issue of syncing 1Password5 on iMac with what I already had running on my MBA. I used Folder Sync with a thumb drive and it worked beautifully! :)
