Hi I am unable to sync my iphone to my mbpro . it has previously worked but stopped recently.
I click on sync, start syncing, sync using wifi , then refresh list, nothing then seems to happen.

    Try this:

    1. Disable wifi sync on both devices then re-enable it; and/or
    2. reboot both devices.

If that doesn't work try temporarily disabling any firewall on your Mac (although if wifi sync previously worked I suspect that's not the problem).

If there's still a problem please post back because there are other things you can try.

    Hi @paulcul,

Let us know the results from following Stephen_C's suggestion. I don't know if it has been fully resolved in OS X 10.10.2 or not but it might be worth checking your device names too (a Bonjour related issue).

iOS: In iOS Settings > General > About make sure the Name of your iOS device doesn't look odd at all e.g. no (2) at the end or anything like that, edit if needed. If it looks normal go ahead and reboot your iOS device.

Mac: In System Preferences > Sharing do the same as above, make sure your Computer Name is normal looking and doesn't have anything like (2) at the end, edit if needed. If it looks fine go ahead and reboot your Mac.

Hi, Many Thanks for the help.

Stephen i Have tried 1 and 2 and turned off the firewall and no joy.

littlebobbytables I have checked both device names as advised and they were both ok.

    Hi @paulcul,

As a troubleshooting step, does it work any better if you Create an ad hoc network between your Mac and iOS device? This isn't meant as a solution, it's merely aimed at eliminating one more variable (the network/router).

    Hi @paulcul,

It might be worth trying a complete reboot of not just your Apple devices but also your router then, lets see if something has gotten jammed up there.

You've got to love the oddities of networking  (one more reason why I love my Draytek router so much)

Glad to hear everything is working properly again @paulcul
