Wifi sync user confused by option to "Erase iCloud Data"
I sync using wi-fi now, and haven't stored my data on a third-party service during the five years I've used 1Password.
1PW for iOS (v5.2) has an option to "Erase iCloud Data" under Settings > Advanced
. In fact it's "active" and red, which is alarming considering I always manually sync.
As a test, I clicked it and a dialog popped-up stating:
Erase Remote iCloud Data?
Resetting will delete all 1Password information stored remotely on iCloud. Your local 1Password data will be unchanged.
I dismissed dialog, and am writing now for clarification.
Does this setting always appear "active" and available--even to people who don't use iCloud?
I would expect it to be greyed-out since I'm not using iCloud--specifically the new iCloud Drive feature in iOS 8.
Confused,
Matt

That is perfectly normal. I see exactly the same and have never used iCloud to sync 1P data. You should also see, in red, Erase Data and Settings. Both of those are standard (whether or not you've ever used iCloud to sync) and are simply clear warnings that if you use them you will normally be deleting 1P data.

Hi @mgl03,
As Stephen has said, it's perfectly normal. However, after reading your post I wonder myself, why not have its state dependent on the presence of CloudKit data? So I've created a ticket for precisely that request.

Thank you both for clarifying and creating the feature request.
