I have an iphone 5s with iOS 8.1.3 and 1Password 5.2 installed . On my macbook pro and iMac I have 1Password 5 but the version bought from the AgileBits website. Now I an synching through wifi because I understand that the web version do not allow iCloud sync.
two questions: 1) Would it be possible to synch the iphone with iCloud so that I have always a copy saved and updated in iCloud and synching wifi between Imac and/or mbp and iphone? does it make sense? 2) 1Password 5 for IOS has been bought from Agilebits. Would it sync with iCloud? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated

    Hi @Luigi,

    1. An 1Password for iOS is only able to sync using one method at a time. We advise against enabling and disabling Wi-Fi Sync because there is sync information that is lost when you do so. We would advise selecting one sync method and sticking with it. I don't mean you can never change your mind, merely you don't want to jump between two. If the goal is a backup then might like to know that 1Password for Mac creates backups on a regular basis if it finds changes in your vault. If you then use Time Machine on top of that to ensure your Mac is backed up you should have access to a number of backups if the need were to ever arise.
    2. Apple's requirements to use CloudKit (the framework behind iCloud syncing now) are that the application must have been purchased through one of their stores. Now the only route to obtain 1Password 5 for iOS is through Apple's iTunes store so the iOS version can always sync with iCloud. To use iCloud Sync on a Mac requires the Apple Mac App Store (MAS) version of 1Password.

Now we do have a 30 day refund policy but I see from our records you purchased a while ago. Still, the Agile Web Store (AWS) version can sync to the iOS version using not just Wi-Fi Sync (which received a shot of steroids in the latest releases) but also via Dropbox which works an awful lot like iCloud. Now syncing seems to be very much a personal choice and many of our users have very strong opinions of iCloud vs Dropbox. If you don't though Dropbox may work as a suitable replacement?

If you have any more questions do please ask
