Domain Matching Issue?

Hi,

I would like to know why auto-fill doesn't work on the page 'https://login.live.com/* when I have the website set in 1PW as 'https://live.com'?

This works fine on Google sites. For example, with 1PW website set as 'https://google.com' it will auto-fill on the page 'https://accounts.google.com/'. Why doesn't this also work with live.com?

System Info: Chrome/Firefox Extension Latest Version - 1PW v4.4.3 - OS X 10.9.5

Thanks!

    Hi @Stonecurse,

It should and I suspect you're falling foul of a slightly different bug.

Try editing your Microsoft Login item, select the entire URL in question and cut it using the keyboard shortcut ⌘X then simply paste back into the exact same field using ⌘C. Save and see if that makes a difference. Does it seem utterly redundant to do that? I won't disagree, we're simply forcing a reserve of the item and I suspect that will sort the issue out for you.

Let us know how you get along.

    @littlebobbytables

Thanks for replying! I tried that for both the Username and URL, but it didn't work. Interestingly, putting 'https://www.live.com' works. Not sure why 'www' makes it work any different than 'https://live.com'.

Would updating to Yosemite/1PW 5 make any difference?

My OCD would like to keep all my logins in the same 'https://domain.com' format. :)

    Hi @Stonecurse,

I do apologise, when answering your original query I didn't take into account the version you were running. I've retested on both 1Password 4 and 5 and the bad news is yes, 1Password 4 is handling it a little differently. If you were to upgrade to Yosemite and 1Password 5 then it would allow you to have the URL as https://live.com

It seems a little drastic just for that though but it's entirely up to you. What I would say is a site can actually handle http://www.site.url and http://site.url differently if they so wish. I'm not saying I know of one of the top of my head, merely I'm pretty sure that is the case.

Now if you did upgrade to Yosemite and 1Password 5 the upgrade for those two is free (I can't say other programs may not charge for an upgrade to their Yosemite version) but there are all sorts of updates in 1Password 5 that you may love. It's also where all of our latest bug fixes are at the moment.

Thanks! I'll be moving to Windows 10 later this year. Do you know if the current version of 1PW 4 for Windows has this same bug?

    Hi @Stonecurse,

I just tested this and I can confirm that a Login I created with URL https://live.com displayed and submitted at https://login.live.com from a default installation of 1Password 4 for Windows.
