Chrome extension shortcuts
I like the new shortcuts in 1p5, but they don't seem to be working consistently. When I am already on a page with login fields and hit command-\ oftentimes nothing happens (repeated tries don't work either). If I close the tab and hit option-command-\ then search for the login and hit it, the tab will open up and submit as normal.
I guess what I'm saying is command-\ doesn't work consistently. option-command-\ seems to be more consistent, but you have to go thru the extra steps of searching for your login. And if you happen to already be on the page you are trying to log into, you have to close it because command-option-\ will not open a new tab if you are already on it. Thereby defeating the purpose of a shortcut.

Hi @midget2000x,
Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. It sounds like something isn't quite behaving right. When you're having this issue, and cmd-\ isn't working, but cmd-opt-\ does... when the mini window shows up, at the top is there a "Add Chrome Extension..." menu item at the top of the mini window? I'm not implying that you don't have the Chrome Extension installed, but sometimes the extension fails to connect properly to the mini, and the mini is left thinking that the extension isn't installed yet.
Have you noticed anything consistent about when this doesn't work right? Here, there's about a 30 second period once both Chrome and the mini are running where it doesn't respond to cmd-\, but after that it seems to consistently work. That 30 second period is part of the validation that the mini does of the app that's trying to communicate with it. It's on our todo list to get this period to be shorter.
Could you provide us with:
- Version of 1Password you're using
- Version of the Chrome extension you're using
- Version of Chrome itself
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the response. No, I am not seeing the "Add chrome extension" menu. I haven't noticed anything consistent. I am a programmer so I do try to look for patterns in bugs and I haven't found one with this.
I'm using 1p 5.1 (510035)
chrome extension version 4.2.5.90
chrome Version 40.0.2214.111 (64-bit)I made a snapz video of what is happening. It's 1.7 mb. I can share it with you if you give me an email address or something. I don't want to post it in the forum for security/privacy reasons.

Hi @midget2000x,
Feel free to send me that video via Private Message here on the forum. Would love to see it misbehave.

Hi @midget2000x,
Thanks for sending the video. Some really curious stuff there.
The fact that the mini showed up, with the correct recommended logins means that communication between the extension and mini is operational, and that the mini was able to ask the extension about the URL of the current tab. So everything is looking good there. That leaves the last bit of talking between the mini and the extension to actually fill the fields.
At this point I'd like us to get a Diagnostics Report. You can get us this by following the instructions on this page. Before you create the Diagnostics Report, reproduce the problem, and mark down the time of when you did it. Send us that info along with the report in an email to support+forums@agilebits.com. Include a link to this thread so that we connect the dots. You'll likely get a message back right away with a ticket id. Feel free to post that here in the forum, which will help us jump between the two easily.
Looking forward to seeing what the diagnostics report has to say.
Rick
