iPad/iPhone 6 passwords do not work
I'm having difficulty logging into my 1Password account on a new iPad ( mini 2). I have an account opened on my iPhone 6 plus, and trying to sync the account from iCloud onto the new iPad. The password I'm entering on the iPhone does not work for my iPad. My understanding is the master password is used to get the app going pulling the information from the cloud. I initially was about 95% sure I had the proper master password entering into the iPad, however it wasn't working. I decided to check the master password account on my iPhone turning off the device and restarting forcing me to enter the master password. I confirmed the proper password was entered and trying to enter this password ( that worked on my iPhone) on my iPad and the same password that worked on my iPhone does not work on my iPad. Am I missing something? I opened this account in November or December of 2014 if that is needed. Please help! Thanks in advance.

Hi @Aichdee,
I'm sorry you're having some trouble with iCloud sync! To make sure I understand, when you first opened 1Password on your iPad, did you choose "Sync existing vault" and then the iCloud option?
Have you changed your master password from your iPhone, or from another device that you sync with 1Password? There was previously a bug where a change to the master password might not sync correctly via iCloud. In that case, if you remember the previous master password, you can try entering that on your iPad to see if it works. If it works, you can change the master password to the new one from Settings > Security, and it should sync correctly now.
On the other hand, if you haven't changed the master password at all, we can try something else to get this working. Do you have all your latest 1Password data on your iPhone 6 Plus? If so, go ahead and follow these steps:
- On your iPhone 6 Plus, open 1Password and go to Sync > Sync Service > Disable Sync (confirm you want to disable it).
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Erase iCloud Data (confirm you want to Reset iCloud Data).
- When you see a message confirming iCloud data has been reset, tap OK.
- Go to Settings > Sync > Start Syncing > Sync with iCloud.
- Follow any additional steps to complete the setup, then allow the sync to complete.
Once the sync has completed, try again to sync with iCloud in 1Password on your iPad. It should accept the master password this time. Please let us know how it all goes and if you have any questions. Thanks!
