Hi @tijmenf,
I'm sorry for any confusion about the license file! It sounds like you're clicking on the link next to "Download:" which goes to our download site for the 1Password app. Right below that, there should be a link in that email that says "click here to automatically add your license". Just in case you don't see that link or it doesn't work, there should be another link that says "View the complete installation steps" which will take you to the site where you can download your license file.
In case it helps, I've resent your license info to your email. I hope that helps, but let us know if you're still having some trouble with that.

I have the same issue here. I have 1P license for Windows & Mac. I had originally a license for 1P3 and purchased an upgrade some time ago. Today, it shows that my trial has expired. When I go on your site and enter my email address, it sends me the license number for 1P3 instead of 1P4 (or 1P5). I went into my archives and retrieved my license number that was sent to me at the time I purchased my upgrade, but there's no way to enter that number anywhere. Please help, I can't live without 1P :)

I've successfully fixed my problem. I took the email that I received with the License Information and clicked on "If you have any troubles viewing this email, you can view it here". It brought me to a page where I was able to request to receive an email with my password. Logged in and was able to retrieve the license file for 1P5 for Mac and license number for 1P4 for Windows.

Problem solved, thank you @sdreyfuss Clicked on link in email that said "If you have any troubles viewing this email, you can view it here" took me to my login page, found my current version, clicked on it and the link is there to download License file. From there on the instructions for adding a license works.

I can't understand how we haven't responded earlier to this thread but it seems we haven't.
In the email there are meant to be three links, one to download 1Password, one to download your licence file and then a third for if something isn't quite right with the second link. We are aware of an issue with gmail where it is stripping out the second link and we don't know why. As far as I am aware it's only gmail that has the issue.
By posting here you have relayed the information to us. There are several of the team that actively monitor the forums - they aren't a place just for unofficial support, it's a genuine way of communicating with the team of which Drew_AG and I are part of.

I've checked our Back Office and I can find a record of a 1Password 3 purchase for yourself. Now 1Password 4 was actually a paid upgrade from 1Password 3 so your 1Password 3 licence won't work there. Now 1Password 5 is a free update for any 1Password 4 customer and a licence for one works on the other. It sounds like you may need a new licence though if you wish to continue using 1Password 5.
At this stage you have two options.
- If iCloud sync isn't important to you, you can use your existing 1Password 3 licence key to obtain a discount on 1Password 5 when you purchase directly from us.
- If iCloud sync is important to you then you would need to purchase from Apple's Mac App Store (MAS). Sadly we can't offer any discounts there as the facility simply doesn't exist.
